CenterStage Announces Auditions for STANTON’S GARAGE

CSPO_logoAuditions for CenterStage Players’ production of STANTON’S GARAGE, a comedy by Joan Ackermann will be held on Monday November 10 and Tuesday November 11 from 7-9pm at the North College Hill City Center, 1500 W. Galbraith Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45224.

If your car has ever broken down in the middle of nowhere you’ll love this comedy. In a ramshackle garage miles from anywhere two cars, both of which were en route to a wedding, await repairs. One is Ron’s, the ex husband of the bride to be, a man who missed his divorce and certainly doesn’t want to miss his wife’s wedding. A bridesmaid who is engaged to the best man owns the other, a Volvo. She has her intended’s teenage daughter with her. They miss the wedding because the shop’s mechanic has never seen a Volvo, much less worked on one. Ron finally does get off to the wedding, lugging a case of anti freeze as a wedding gift. He staggers back later to warn the Volvo driver that her husband to be is a world class jerk. Meanwhile, the teenager falls in love with the amorous store gofer.

CSP_Inherit the WindINHERIT THE WIND
Presented by CenterStage Players of Ohio
Sept. 26-Oct. 4
North College Hill

Directed by Fred Hunt

Official cast list |

This drama is a partly fictionalized courtroom drama of the “Monkey Trial” battle (in the sultry summer of 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee) between two famous lawyers (Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan) who volunteered to argue both sides of the case. Its story centers around the issue of evolution vs. creationism, in the prosecution of 24 year-old Dayton High School math teacher and sports coach – and substitute science teacher – John T. Scopes for violating state law by teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution in a state-funded school. The plays title is taken from the Biblical book of Proverbs 11:29: “He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind.”
