SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL runs July 28-31

SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL
Presented by Mason Community Players
July 28-31
Mason

Directed by Carol Hall

Now one of the most performed shows in America, SEUSSICAL is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (RAGTIME, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a little boy with a big imagination–Jojo. “Oh, the Thinks You Can Think” captures the show’s spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

CARRIED AWAY runs July 8-9

CARRIED AWAY
Presented by Human Race Theatre Company  summer Lovewell project
July 8-9
Dayton

The anticipated coming of The Rapture may not have made it on schedule in May, but it will be on the stage of The Loft Theatre this July. Twenty-one talented teens, working under the aegis of the internationally-acclaimed Lovewell Project and The Human Race, Dayton’s own professional theatre company, will be presenting CARRIED AWAY, a musical that’s sure to be uplifting.

The Lovewell system fosters a collaborative process that results in an entire musical built from scratch. The teens come up with a concept, create a script, compose the music, design the set and costumes, and produce and perform the play. The results of a Lovewell project are always a small-r revelation, but this year will also be a capital-R Revelation.
