The beloved story of tradition, change, and love. Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

In the spirit of Memorial Hall’s past productions of TOMMY and RING OF FIRE, this lightly-staged production will include an on-stage, seven-piece band; nearly twenty costumed actors and dancers and scenic, lighting and projection design.

Music Director, Props Manager & Asst. SM Sought for SCHOOL OF ROCK at Loveland Stage Company

Loveland Stage Company’s production of SCHOOL OF ROCK is looking for a Music Director to help bring the music to life!

This involves recruiting and organizing the pit band, lead band rehearsals and help prepare the musicians for the show, attend rehearsals and work with the Director and Vocal Director to make sure everything comes together, conduct or lead the band during performances, be comfortable working with both adults and kids, and have experience with rock music and be able to capture the style and energy that makes School of Rock so much fun.

This is a stipend position.

Rehearsals start late November 

Tech Week: February 28 – March 4

Performances: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, March 5–21

Zoom Auditions Announced for Senior Capstone Films at Xavier University DIFT

Xavier University’s Digital Innovation, Film, and Television (DIFT) Seniors are currently casting actors for Senior Capstone Films

Xavier’s DIFT program is nationally recognized as the #7 Screenwriting Program and one of the Top 20 Film and Video Programs, with accreditation and recognition from the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts. This senior class has also earned the Audience Choice Award at the College Movie Festival for two consecutive years!

Auditions are held online through Zoom. We’ve extended our audition deadline past August 15. However, the sooner the better! 

Once a time slot has been selected and our audition form has been submitted, a casting director will email the character’s sides in preparation for the audition. 

We’re currently seeking both seasoned and young performers for a variety of exciting student film projects across multiple genres. 

Roles for Young Performers 

JUDGEMENT DAY
Janey finds a daunting list of chores to finish before her mom gets home. However, her real challenge isn’t the cleaning—it’s getting her headstrong and messy little sister, Rosie, to cooperate.

  • Janey – (12-15), older sister – The peacekeeper of the family, she’ll do anything to avoid the consequences of her sister’s actions falling onto her. However, Rosie is getting older, and Janey feels it’s time for her to learn a hard lesson. Music is her happy place; she’s rarely without an instrument or earbuds.
  • Rosie – (7-11), younger sister – Spunky, dramatic, messy, stubborn, but passionate. She is driven by her creativity. She always looks for loopholes and shortcuts. When it comes to chores, Rosie will find any reason to put them off. None of her actions come from a place of malice, though she’s a bit mischievous at times. She knows that if she waits long enough, Janey will probably help her.

MY BROTHER MARCUS
After her brother’s sudden death, a grieving teenage girl struggles to find meaning in what he left behind.

  • Marcus– (17-18), male, brother – A loving and caring brother, charismatic, fun, helpful, kind, and pretty witty.
  • Lila – (14-16), female, sister – Sharp witted but also a little sensitive. She sometimes masks her emotions with sarcasm. She’s depressed after her brother’s death, but makes sense of things at the end.

STILL SPINNING
A radio host sister and potter brother. Their lives spin in different directions, but they always support one another.

  • Young Nico – 8-15, male non-speaking
  • Young Nikki – 7-14, female non-speaking

Janey does everything she can to ease her Mom’s stress, while Rosie likes to toe the line. The night before, Mom decided that she had enough of the messy house and left a to-do list of chores. She expects a clean house by the time she gets home…

MY BROTHER MARCUS
After her brother’s sudden death, a grieving teenage girl struggles to find meaning in what he left behind.

  • Maya – 40s-50s, female, mother – a caring and loving mother. She’s also saddened by the death of her son, but stays strong for her daughter. She wants to comfort her in any way she can.

BACKDOOR
After visiting a shady website, a wanted criminal finds himself on a date with the woman of his dreams. However, he’s unaware that she is a government informant tasked with bringing him down!

  • Rory – Early-mid 20s, male, wanted criminal

A recent college grad who lives with his roommate. He’s big into video games and the web, but he’s socially clumsy, even though he means well. Rory has a pretty unimpressive love life. After meeting “Ashley” through an online ad, he sees it as his big chance to get his girl.

Know Theatre of Cincinnati Presents the Regional Premiere of MAKE BELIEVE

Four siblings grapple with childhood ghosts in this mystery by Pulitzer Prize-Winning playwright, Bess Wohl, September 10-26

Cincinnati, OH – Know Theatre of Cincinnati kicks off their 29th season with Bess Wohl’s haunting Make Believe, a sprawling family epic about four abandoned siblings in the far flung 1980s and, three decades later, their shell shocked adult counterparts, still recovering from a latchkey childhood. Written by the playwright of Know Theatre’s 2024 production Camp Siegfried and directed by Know Theatre Producing Artistic Director, Bridget Leak, Make Believe invites the audience into a nostalgia-cramped attic where the things that haunt us are never truly packed away, just resting under layers of dust, waiting for us to pick them up again.

The four Conlee kids arrive home from grade school, hungry and tired, but Mom is nowhere to be found and Dad is away on a business trip. From their attic playroom, the kids scrounge for snacks, play dress up, and try on the roles of “Mom” and “Dad,” all the while the phone downstairs won’t stop ringing. Thirty years later, the adult siblings – each at a crossroads in their lives – are reunited by tragedy, discovering details of their childhood that give new context, forcing them to question whether their past will continue to define their future.

“This play is so important,” says director Bridget Leak, “because it’s asking if we have a choice in who we become, especially when we have a difficult origin story. In Make Believe we witness a moment in these characters’ collective past where their lives change irreparably, and the present where these lost adults are desperately trying to create a world that is in alignment with the inner child they’re each trying to nurture. They’re choosing to break a painful family cycle, and I think there’s a lot of hope in that.” Running September 10 – 26, 2026, on the Know Theatre MainStage.
