THE FOREIGNER
Covedale Center for the Performing Arts
Oct. 20-Nov. 13
West Price Hill

Directed by Jodie Meyn

Cast: Rodger Pille as Charlie, Matthew Wilson as Ellard, Annie Schneider as Catherine, Aaron Whitehead as Froggy, Daniel Cooley as David, Kyle Quinlivan as Owen & Lesley Hitch as Betty

In a fishing lodge in Georgia, “Froggy” LeSeuer (a British demolition expert of all things) has brought along a friend –  a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who cannot bear the thought of making conversation with strangers! So “Froggy,” tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Of course,  Charlie overhears more than he should—the evil plans of a two-faced minister and his redneck associates; the fact that the minister’s pretty fiancée is pregnant; and a litany of revelations made with the thought that Charlie doesn’t understand a word being said! The hilarity builds to a wild climax where things go uproariously wrong for the “bad guys,” and the “good guys” emerge triumphant!

[title of show]
Warsaw Federal Incline Theater
Sept. 29-Oct. 16
East Price Hill

Directed by Mike Sherman
Music directed by Jacob Priddy
Choreographed by Jay Goodlett

Cast: Noah Berry as Hunter, Hunter Henrickson as Jeff, Lindsey Augusta Mercer as Heidi & Erin McCamley as Susan

Takes its name from the space on the theater festival’s application form.  It follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends as they brave the gauntlet of self-expression – writing a musical.  In the course of the show, they write and perform their creation at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.  [Title of Show] is, above all, a love letter to the musical theatre-a uniquely American art form-and to the joy of collaboration.  The musical received a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical in 2009.
