Auditions Announced for SEUSSICAL the Musical at East Side Players

esp_logoThe East Side Players are pleased to announce auditions for their June production of SEUSSICAL the Musical.

Numerous roles available for ages 5 and up.

Directed by Amanda Osburn.

Auditions are Sundays March 8 and 15 from 2-6pm at the Blue Ash Presbyterian Church, 4309 Cooper
Road, 45242.

Please prepare one-minute of a song, preferably from SEUSSICAL the Musical. CD or .mp3 accompaniment is fine as there will be no accompanist. Auditionees may be asked to do a reading from the script, and there will be a dance routine which will be taught at the audition.

All rehearsals and performances will be at the Blue Ash Amphitheater 4433 Cooper Road,
45242.

Performance dates are June 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13 at the Blue Ash Amphitheater.

Auditions Announced for Disney’s THE LION KING JR at Rise Up Performing Arts

RUPA_logoYouth ages 7-18 are invited to audition for Disney’s THE LION KING JR. This is the third musical of RISE UP Performing Arts’ inaugural season. There will be lots of roles in this production, which is directed by Angie Neal.

Auditions are Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with callbacks from 4 to 6 p.m. that same day.

Auditions are at First Baptist Church Hamilton, 1501 Pyramid Hill Blvd, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.

Rehearsals will be at Garfield Middle School in Hamilton and performances at Fairfield Freshman School in Fairfield.

Auditions Announced for THE LITTLE MERMAID at La Comedia Dinner Theatre

LAC_logoLa Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio is holding auditions for its upcoming production of THE LITTLE MERMAID on Saturday March 7, 2020, at 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio.

9:00 AM – CHILDREN

  • Boys & Girls ages 7-17. Will be used throughout show and in production numbers.
  • The role of FLOUNDER is a young boy (10-14) and will be cast from this audition

10:00 AM – ADULTS

  • ARIEL – (18-22) Soprano with strong belt. Beautiful, adventurous, and headstrong
  • URSULA – (25-40) Alto with strong belt. Manipulative, cunning, and devious, yet humorous
  • PRINCE ERIC – (18-24) Lyrical tenor/baritone. Charming prince, strong singer and actor
  • KING TRITON – (30-50) Strong baritone. Ruler of the seas, strong, commanding yet sensitive
  • SCUTTLE – (20-30) Tenor. The funny, off-beat seagull. Good singer with great comedic timing. Must display tap dancing skills.
  • SEBASTIAN – (20-30) Caribbean-style voice/baritone. The anxious crab, strong singer, mover, and actor.
  • FLOTSEM & JETSAM – (20-30) Tenors with strong falsetto range. Ursula’s underhanded, devious eel spies. Strong movers
  • CHEF LOUIS- (30-50) The over the top chef, excellent feature role for a comedic actor.
  • ENSEMBLE – 18-Older, Male and Female strong singers and movers to play various ensemble roles and cover principals

Be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theatre song appropriate to the show. Also be prepared to dance.

Rehearsals begin May 18, 2020.

Performances June 4 – July 26, 2020, Thurs-Sun matinees and evenings.

Previous announcement – Now that there are confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the area, we have made the decision to take our PIRATES OF PENZANCE auditions virtual, at least for this first go.

I will be reaching out individually to anyone signed up through our Sign Up Genius page via email in the next 24 hours with what script clips we would like you to include in your video, in addition to vocal exercises to show range and at least 32 bars of a song selection that demonstrates your ability. There will also be a form you can submit electronically.

We are also accepting VIDEO AUDITIONS, if you are uncomfortable coming to the audition. If you are interested in this option, please email info@voicesofindiana.org, and I will send requirements. A video shot on a cell phone is acceptable.

Voices of Broadway is excited to announce auditions for their summer 2020 musical, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. Please note: this VOB production is recommended for participants in high school (age 14) and up due to the complexity of the music. Cast will be select – not all that audition will be invited to participate.

Due to generous underwriting of this year’s production, Voices of Indiana is pleased to announce that the participation fee for the 2020 Voices of Broadway production of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE will be reduced from $100 to $35. As always, need based scholarships will be available where appropriate.

Voices of Broadway is an educational program, offering a fully-staged theatrical experience, with instruction for both what goes on onstage and backstage. There is a $35 fee to participate. Cast members will receive a show t-shirt (included in the fee). Limited tuition assistance and scholarships are available. $25 minimum deposit as a script fee upon acceptance of role.

Auditions will be at a location TBA.

  • MARCH 17: 6:30-8 PM Auditions

Directed by Fred Tacon.

For your audition, please prepare a song or excerpt from an operetta or musical theater show that best represents your singing voice. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. Please note: do not expect to sing a cappella or with pre-recorded music.

Auditionees may be asked to read from the script at auditions.

Please bring known conflicts between March 31 and June 28, 2020.

Rehearsals will start in late MARCH; performances are JUNE 25 & 26 (evening) and 27 (matinee and evening) at Lawrenceburg High School (LHS) Auditorium.
