Stagecrafters will be auditioning for the role of Joanne in VANITIES by Jack Heifner on Monday, January 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center, 11165 Reading Rd.
Cast requirements – 3 women (all play ages 18 through 28)
Performance dates – April 2, 3, 8, 9 & 10, 2016
A bittersweet comedy that is an astute, sharp chronicle of the lives of three Texas girls. In 1963, Joanne, Kathy and Mary are aggressively vivacious cheerleaders. Five years later in their college sorority house, they are confronting their futures with nervous jauntiness. In 1974, they reunite briefly in New York. Their lives have diverged their friendship, which once thrived on assumption as well coordinated as sweater sets.
Cold readings from the script.

I’m working on a pilot program with the Educational Theatre Association, called JumpStart Theatre. It’s a program designed to build sustainable theatre programs in underserved middle schools. The first three schools were chosen earlier this year (Holmes Middle School, James N. Gamble Montessori, and Finneytown Middle School) and we are now accepting applications for the second class of schools!
If you know someone at a Cincinnati-area middle school without a theatre program, please encourage them to apply. The application (and more info) is located here: https://www.schooltheatre.org/programs/jumpstarttheatre
If you have questions or want to receive monthly updates about our progress with the first three schools, contact Ginny Butsch at gbutsch@schooltheatre.org. To support JumpStart Theatre with a donation, visit https://www.schooltheatre.org/support/donate.
Also, if you have any questions about this program please feel free to contact me.
