Auditions Announced for BOURBON AT THE BORDER at Falcon Theatre

FT_logoFalcon is excited to be able to resume in-person auditions! We will be following all CDC guidelines for safety.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Use Falcon’s online Audition Form to submit your information prior to auditions (see below)
  • Must submit a digital version of your resume (PDF Preferred)
  • Headshots must be PDF, or JPEG format
  • NOTE: Due to current COVID-19 safety precautions, all actors are required to be fully vaccinated

Each production has a unique audition form (below). If you wish to audition for more than 1 production, please fill out the form for each production separately.

Audition Details:

  • Auditions will be held in person on June 27th and 28th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Actors only need attend 1 of the 2 audition days. All actors are requested to submit an audition form prior to attending auditions (click the Audition Sign-Up button below to register for auditions).
  • Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Based on actual events (how loosely is anyone’s guess), Jim Fingal is a fresh-out-of-Harvard fact checker for a prominent but sinking New York magazine. John D’Agata is a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy — an essay that could save the magazine from collapse. When Jim is assigned by Emily Penrose to fact check D’Agata’s essay, the two come head to head in a comedic yet gripping battle over facts versus truth.

Casting Requirements:

  • Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
  • A résumé and headshot are not required but are encouraged.
  • Please provide a list of all known conflicts between Jul 18 and Sep 11, 2022

Roles:

  • Jim Fingal – 20s, recent Harvard graduate
  • Emily Penrose – Late 40s to 60s, Editor-in-Chief
  • John D’Agata – 40s to 60s, essayist

Auditions Announed for 2022-2023 Season at TheatreLab Dayton

TLD_logoTheatreLab Dayton is excited to announce our 2022-2023 season auditions.

Auditions will take place on July 11-13th from 7-9pm. Please prepare two contrasting songs, each no longer than 1 minute. An accompanist will be provided, as well as a speaker. No acapella auditions accepted. Video submissions are also accepted and can be sent to auditions@theatrelabdayton.org. All roles are paid contract positions.

Auditions Announced for THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at La Comedia

LAC_logoLa Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio, is holding an open call audition for its upcoming production of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio.

Seeking Adult Men & Women (18+) who are excellent Singers and Actors for the following roles:

  • WILLIAM BARFEE – Spells words that he first traces with his foot. He is odd, abrasive, and arrogant. Baritone-tenor
  • LEAF CONEYBEAR – Wears handmade clothes, a cape, and safety helmet. During the bee he stares into space and is amazed with all that is going on. Baritone-tenor
  • CHIP TOLENTINO – The previous year’s champion. Handsome and confident. Wears a boy scout uniform. Tenor
  • OLIVE OSTROVSKY – Shy, hard to hear. Puts her hand in front of her face when she spells. Strong singer. Soprano/mezzo
  • MARCY PARK – Wears a school uniform. She is an overachiever and confident competitor. She spells each word quickly and clearly. Tumbler and strong mover preferred. Soprano/mezzo
  • LOGGAINE SCHWARTZANDGRUBNIERRE – She goes by Schwartz and is the youngest speller. She talks with a lisp and is very interested in politics. She signs each word before she spells it. Strong belter.
  • MITCH MAHONEY – Comfort counselor to the losing spellers. He is only doing this because it is part of his court-ordered community service. Bouncer-type physically. Tenor.

Be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song of a musical theatre song appropriate to the show.

Rehearsals begin July 11, 2022 (10 AM-6 PM Mon-Sat)

Performances July 28 – Sept 11, 2022, Thurs-Sun matinees and evenings.

Auditions Announced for THE TAMING at Village Players

VP_new logoVillage Players of Fort Thomas is holding auditions for THE TAMING by Lauren Gunderson Sunday, June 12 at 2:00pm and Monday, June 13 at 7:00pm in the street-level Judith M. Sarakatsannis Gallery at 8 N. Ft. Thomas Ave. 41075.

We are also accepting virtual auditions (see below for details). COVID-19 vaccination required.

In-person auditions: Cold readings, sides provided. Resume and headshot appreciated but not required. Bring all conflicts between August 1 and October 9.

  • KATHERINE: passionate Southern belle/pageant winner/mastermind. Also plays GEORGE and MARTHA WASHINGTON, 1787. Also plays DOLLEY MADISON, 1787.
  • VOICE ACTOR: Off-stage voice of THE STAGE MANAGER, MISS AMERICA ANNOUNCER, and VICTORIA “THE KNIFE” CASTELLIANO. Will double as crew/dresser backstage.
