Auditions Announced for SHE LOVES ME at Kincaid Regional Theatre

Audition Requirements

  • Resume and headshot are required.
  • Please prepare 16 bar cut of a song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A cappella auditions will not be  considered.
  • Please wear appropriate dance attire.

Please come prepared to submit a current Headshot/Performance Resume.

Directors Sought 2018 Season at Kincaid Regional Theatre

KRT_logoKincaid Regional Theatre is seeking creative and enthusiastic directors for our 2018 season. Candidates should send a resume and cover letter to krtshows@fuse.net. Professional references encouraged. Reference “2018 Season Director” in subject line. Preference given to candidates that submit applications prior to February 23. Please complete the fields below.

This position calls for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Strong management skills
  • Pays attention to details
  • Time management
  • Budgeting skills (working closely with the General Manager during KRT’s first season in our new venue)
  • Theatre arts training (degree in fine arts or drama encouraged, but not required)
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Approachable, respectful, creative
  • Understanding that flexibility is key to ensure success of KRT’s first season in the new venue

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the musical’s production, tasks including:
    1. Creative Leadership
    2. Conducting Rehearsals
    3. Approving production designs, working cooperatively and respectfully with KRT resident technicians
    4. Guiding the cast and crew
    5. Interpreting scripts, identifying themes
  2. Hiring the following production staff (KRT General Manager will aide in this process, some positions may be
    effectively filled internally):

    1. Stage Manager
    2. Choreographer
    3. Costumer
    4. Scenic Designer
    5. Prop Designer
    6. Scenic Carpenter
    7. Sound Designer

Auditions Announced for I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS at Kincaid Regional Theatre

KRT_LogoKincaid Regional Theatre in Falmouth, KY (45-50 minutes from Northern Kentucky) announces auditions for this season’s Christmas show, I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.  With a backdrop of the early 1940s, the show is a musical set in the magic of radio days, as the nation was struggling to come out of the Great Depression and facing the certainty of World War II.  The show addresses timeless family challenges while mixing in the high-spirited, madcap behavior of early 1940’s entertainment.

This is a paid production.  No roles have been pre-cast.

Auditions by appointment. Walk-ins will be seen in the next available slot.

Friday, September 22:  5–10 PM at Grants Lick Baptist Church, 941 Clay Ridge Rd, Alexandria, KY 41001

Saturday, September 23:  5:30 – 10 PM at Thomas More College Theatre, 333 Thomas More Parkway, Crestview Hills, KY 41017

Callbacks will be Sunday, September 24 from 3 – 7 PM, place TBD.

What to prepare:

  • Resume and headshot are required.
  • Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A cappella auditions, or those with pre-recorded accompaniment, will not be considered.
  • You may also be asked to read from the script.
  • There will be a short movement audition during callbacks. Ballroom dancing a plus.

Rehearsals begin Friday, October 20.  Performances December 1 – 3, 8 – 10, 15 – 17.

  • Howard (45-65) – wry, occasionally obstinate, but ultimately very wise patriarch.
  • Norma (26-30) – older daughter of Howard, mother of Micky/Vera, single mother while husband is off to war
  • Angie (18-26) – younger daughter of Howard, little sister who is impulsive, dramatic, but sensitive and loving
  • Micky / Vera (boy or girl, 7-10) – son/daughter of Norma, inquisitive, adventurous, high-spirited
  • Danny (any age) – clumsy, hapless mailman, charming
  • Sid (25-65) – retired car salesman who lives downstairs, classic eccentric
  • Lil (36-45) – building’s maintenance supervisor, no nonsense woman
  • Jerry Brainerd (any age) – quintessential radio announcer, smooth, charismatic voice
  • Stella (25-65) – radio personality and diva
  • Frankie (18-30) – radio crooner with a smooth, velvet voice
  • Olivia Orange (25-55) – quirky radio personality, a la Carmen Miranda
  • Ricardo Fortsando (18-50) – radio voice who sings Italian arias (experience with Italian songs a plus)
  • Men, Women and Teen Ensemble

Auditions Announced for OKLAHOMA! at Kincaid Regional Theatre

KRT_LogoOh what a beautiful day, to audition! We are now casting for our 2017 mainstage production. Coming June 16th through July 2nd, Kincaid will transport audiences to turn of the century Western Indian Territory. Here feuding farmers and cowboys join together to triumphantly declare their new state, OKLAHOMA!

Auditions:
March 22 6:30-8:30, Northern Kentucky University, Fine Arts Building–Room FA220
March 24 5:30-7:30, Campbell County High School, Auditorium

Audition Requirements

  • Please prepare one monologue, which should not exceed one minute, and 32 bars from a musical in the style of the show. Additionally, please have a second song, of contrasting style to the first, prepared should the director wish to give you the opportunity to perform both. 
  • Please come prepared to dance. Dance shoes and attire are encouraged. Actors are also encouraged to be familiar with characters and songs from the show, for possible cold readings.
  • Our director seeks casting for actors 18+ who can play characters ranging from young adult to mature.

  • CCHS: All audition slots between 5:30-6:15 will dance at 6:15. All audition slots between 6:30-7:15 will dance at 7:15.
