Our 61st Mainstage Season leaps off the screen & page and onto the stage in Roald Dahl’s MATILDA the Musical. Featuring a large cast of children and adults, ‘Matilda the Musical’ is a triumphant and bold new musical that follows Matilda Wormwood, a girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading more than anything, as she follows her heart on a journey we will never forget.
This production staff is committed to bringing together a diverse group of people who are dedicated to bringing this story to life. The purpose of the Cincinnati Music Theatre Scholarship Program is to encourage and promote the study of theater arts at the collegiate level, particularly musical theater, in both performance and production. Importantly, the CMT Scholarship Program is intended to give back to the Greater Cincinnati area through the support of academic study in recognition of the years of dedicated public interest and support of CMT productions.
Children of Eden is a show largely about parenthood. About what we bring to and leave to the next generation. About all of the hopes and dreams we try to gift them, and what happens when they don’t react to those legacies in the way we expect. About anger, and disappointment, and loss. But it is also about hope. About connection. About forgiveness. And that so often the hardest part of love is letting go.
