THE ODD COUPLE

This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.  Winner! 1965 Tony Award, Best Author of a Play.

Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart’s classic musical based on Charles Dickens’ novel, Oliver Twist. The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of having the true love of a family. With great songs like, “Food Glorious Food”, Consider Yourself”, “As Long As He Needs Me” and “Who Will Buy”!

ELF The Musical

Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.  Based on the cherished 2003 hit movie, this modern-day holiday classic features great holiday songs like, “Nobody Cares About Santa”, “Never Fall in Love With an Elf”, “There Is a Santa Claus” – sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES

Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend as Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw travel to Paris, pursued by a detective hired by the suspicious father of Lorelei’s fiancé, as well as a rich, enamored old man and many other doting admirers.  There’s the delightfully rich Gus Esmond, son of America’s Button King, The American Olympic Team, the richest widow from Philadelphia, plus Sir Francis and Lady Beekman (she has a diamond tiara that Lorelei just knows would look its best on her own blonde head!) Maybe there’s a future merger between the button business and the zipper business that will bring lots of success (and lots more diamonds) to Lorelei!. Tunes include:  “Bye Bye Baby” and “A Little Girl from Little Rock”, “You Say You Care” and the showstopper –  “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend”!

While spying on their wives at a “Girls’ Night Out,” a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo sees how much the women enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. Though extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally, they seek to conquer their self-consciousness and prejudices. The men discover that they’re stronger as a group, yet each finds the individual courage to “let it go.” The Full Monty is a story full of heart, reazor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzaz. With hilarious songs like “Let It Go”, “It’s a Woman’s World”, “The Goods” and “You Rule My World”.

GREASE
April 1 – April 25, 2021

Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “T-Birds” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “Look at Me I’m Sandra Dee,” “Hand Jive”, “Beauty School Dropout” and more –  recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.
