Nunsense and Nunsense A-men
Two unCONVENTual musicals

Nunsense, directed by Jay Fultz, is the hilarious result of a variety show put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken as a fundraiser. When they need to raise funds to bury the last four sisters of the fifty who died of botulism after consuming Sr. Julia Child of God’s vichyssoise, they decide sharing their talents will do the trick. The last remaining nuns of their order…Reverend Mother Regina, Sr. Mary Hubert, Sister Robert Anne, Sr. Amnesia, and novice Sr. Leo…rally together, so that their fellow sisters can be put to rest.

Nunsense will be performed July 15 & 16 at 8:00 PM and July 17 & 23 at 3:00 PM.

When the good sisters are unable to perform because Sr. Julia Child of God strikes again, the men of the stage crew rise to the occasion and present Nunsense A-men. They do so because “the show must go on.” Nunsense A-men will be performed July 21, 22 & 23 at 8:00 PM and July 24 at 3:00 PM.

Tickets to attend either Nunsense or Nunsense A-men are $20 for Adults and $15 for Seniors and Students.

If you would wish to attend both shows, prices are $35 for Adults and $30 for Seniors and Students. You may choose any of the Nunsense performances coupled with any of the Nunsense A-men performances. No need to come on the same evening or day of the week for both. You can choose when you make your ticket purchase online or by leaving a message at 513.398.7804 as to which to shows you prefer.

There is also a special Double or Nun event being held Saturday, July 23rd that allows audience members to see Nunsense at 3:00 PM and Nunsense A-men at 8:00 PM with a box dinner in between. The cost for the event is $50 for adults and $45 for Seniors and Students.

Tickets are available at MasonPlayers.org.

SCCT_logo2Sinclair Theatre Season
That Ah-Ha! Moment

Sinclair Theatre is proud to announce its 2022-2023 Mainstage Season “That Ah-Ha! Moment” in Blair Hall, building 2, on the downtown Dayton campus.

Designed to celebrate “That Ah-Ha! Moment,” when theatre gives us a sudden realization, whether it be that a character isn’t quite what you expected, or a revelation about a real situation that you did not know. Here are the chosen productions:

R & J & Z (Romeo & Juliet & ZOMBIES) by Melody Bates will haunt the stage from October 21-29, 2022. The famous lovers navigate a world in which death isn’t necessarily the end. Equally inspired by Shakespeare and modern zombie films, R & J & Z pushes the boundaries of theatrical humor and horror. Directed by Gina Kleesattel. Fight choreography by Gary Minyard.

Back by popular demand, A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schulz, returns December 15-18, 2022, to delight children of all ages. The popular holiday classic based on the TV special unites Charlie, Snoopy, Lucy and the gang as they explore the true meaning of Christmas. ASL shadow-interpreted performances return to the stage offering a unique experience to all audiences!

From New York to Paris, from ragtime to jazz:  THE HELLO GIRLS chronicles the story of America’s first women soldiers in this new musical inspired by true events.  Presented March 24-April 1, 2023, during Women’s History Month, this is the story of women who answered the call, with music and lyrics by Peter Mills; book by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. These intrepid heroines served as bilingual telephone operators on the front lines, helping turn the tide of World War I.  They then returned home to fight a decades-long battle for equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations. Directed by Kimberly Borst with Charles Larkowski as music director.

Tickets and more information on these mainstage shows will be available online by Sept. 1st at www.sinclair.edu/tickets. Watch for special Tuesday Student Madness performances!

Despite the chorus of trolls that taunts them, the girls unite, embarking on a transformative journey toward empowerment and self-assurance.

With authenticity and sensitivity, Northern Kentucky-based novelist Sheila Williams interviewed local teen girls to inspire the opera’s story, while Cincinnati native William Menefield employed jazz, modern, Afro-Cuban, R&B, and classical music styles in its high-energy score. D.
