It’s Princess Aurora’s sixteenth birthday, and three fairies – Flora, Fauna and Merryweather – must use their magic to save her from the spell of the evil sorceress, Maleficent! The fairies ensure that Aurora only falls into a deep sleep that can be ended with a kiss from her betrothed, Prince Phillip. To prevent Phillip from rescuing Aurora, Maleficent kidnaps and imprisons him. The good fairies are the last hope to free Phillip so that he can awaken Aurora.

Auditions Announced for GETTING TO KNOW…THE SOUND OF MUSIC at Voices of Broadway

VOB_logoAuditions to participate in the Voices of Broadway production of GETTING TO KNOW…THE SOUND OF MUSIC are a requirement for participation.

Please note: this VOB production is only open to participants 18 or under. Cast will be select – not all that audition will be invited to participate.

Voices of Broadway is an educational program, offering a fully-staged theatrical experience, with instruction for both what goes on onstage and backstage. There is a $100 fee to participate. Cast members will keep their script and a show t-shirt (included in the fee). Limited tuition assistance and scholarships are available. $25 minimum deposit as a script fee upon acceptance of role.

This production is open to ages 18 and under.

Auditions will be at Community Fellowship Church, 505 Bielby Rd, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025.

  • APRIL 3: 4:00-7:30 PM Auditions
  • APRIL 4: 4:00-7:30 PM Auditions

For your audition, please prepare one verse of a Broadway or Disney song. Selection does NOT need to be from THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

Scripts will be available for cold readings.

Slots are to help with managing the audition times, but be prepared to wait as needed. Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.

If needed, Call Backs will be on a different day, TBD (target is Friday, April 5).

Rehearsals will start in MAY; performances are JUNE 28 (evening) & 29 (matinee and evening) at Lawrenceburg High School (LHS) Auditorium.

Rehearsal Schedule will be based in part on the availability of the participants; after school lets out for the summer, rehearsals will be primary in the mornings during the week.

ALSO NEEDED:

Stage/Tech Crew, Pit Musicians, General Volunteers (all ages welcome for these!) No participation fee for these positions. VOB has a new microphone system, and the LHS Auditorium is a traditional proscenium theater with a fly rail system for lighting and scenery.

Based on the well-loved, children’s book series, “A Year of Frog and Toad” is a musical that follows two amphibian best friends and their colorful companions over the course of a year. A hit on Broadway, “A Year with Frog and Toad” was nominated for three Tony Awards – including Best Musical. Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.

Auditions Announced for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN at Cincinnati Actor’s Studio & Academy

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Presents RUMPELSTILTSKIN on the Showtime Stage

Remember his name!  The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) brings an exciting 45-minute performance of RUMPELSTILTSKIN presented by TCT On Tour (TCT’s touring division) to the Ralph and Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage March 15-17, 2019.

​TCT retells this classic tale of the miller’s daughter, her boastful father, a handsome prince and the ability to spin straw into gold. Discover the magic and wonder of one of the world’s best loved fairytales.

The 4-person cast includes members of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Resident Artist Company:  Joey Logan, Ryan-Chavez Richmond, Brandi Langford-Sherrill and Maddie Vaughn.  The production was directed by Deondra Kamau Means.  Thematic Connections include:  Literary Classic, Reading, Folktales, Fairytales, Self-Esteem, Friendship, Kindness, Strength of Character, and Bullying. 

RUMPELSTILTSKIN is most enjoyed by those in grades PreK-5 and will be presented on the Ralph and Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage, 4015 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati, OH  45227.  Only 152 seats are available for each performance.  A question-and-answer session follows every show.

Performances will be held:

  • Friday, March 15 at 11 AM – great for HomeSchoolers!
  • Saturday, March 16 at 11 AM and 2 PM
  • Sunday, March 17 at 2 PM
