Actors should prepare one (1) contemporary musical theatre selection. Comedic selections are encouraged. Please also be prepared to dance.

An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A cappella auditions, or those with pre-recorded accompaniment, will not be considered. Please provide two (2) copies of your résumé and at least one (1) headshot. All performers are compensated.

XANADU is a professional production, opening The Carnegie’s 2012-13 Theatre Series.

EdTA Seeks Advertising and Business Development Manager

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a professional organization for theatre education with approximately 90,000 members nationwide. EdTA’s mission is shaping lives through theatre education by: *Honoring student achievement* in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; *Supporting teachers* by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and *Influencing public opinion* that theatre education is essential and builds life skills. EdTA operates the International Thespian Society (ITS), an honorary organization that has inducted over 2 million theatre students since its founding in 1929.

*Job description*

EdTA seeks an Advertising and Business Development Manager whose objective is to grow sources of non-dues revenue through advertising and exhibit sales, and to coordinate and grow the Association’s royalty program. This position will help develop and implement a new revenue source through online advertising sales. The Advertising and Business Development Manager will report to the Director of Marketing, but interact extensively with multiple departments, including Publications, Membership, Development, and Educational Events.

*Summary of basic duties and responsibilities*

This position is responsible for the maintenance and cultivation of advertising clients for the Association’s publications and exhibitors at two Association events. They will be responsible for creating and executing sales campaigns, writing and negotiating contracts; managing and processing royalty reports and payments; and periodic marketing communications projects.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as a part of a team with a strong customer-service, goal-oriented personality. Client management and deadline management skills are a must. Limited travel will be involved, including the Association’s week-long Thespian Festival in June and professional conference in September. Prior experience in selling online advertising is preferred.

*Specific responsibilities*

  • Serve as an account manager for current advertising and exhibiting clients.
  • Prospect for new clients.
  • Negotiate and write advertising contracts.
  • Set advertising rates and contribute to the budget process on advertising revenue.
  • Develop sales campaigns to increase advertising/exhibiting revenue and client base.
  • Manage incoming advertising art and works with Publications Department to get art to the designer.
  • Work with Events Department to manage the exhibit areas of Association events.
  • Coordinate with the Development Department to ensure that advertising/exhibiting components of sponsorship agreements are fulfilled.
  • Develop and execute royalty agreement opportunities with selected vendors.
  • Process reports on royalty payments of Association vendors.
  • Will help to develop and launch web/electronic advertising.

SBM Seeks Actor for Officer O’Hara in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE

The Showboat Majestic is seeking one male actor to play the role of Officer O’Hara (cameo), the determined police officer who is also an aspiring playwright in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.

Actors may read for the role: Thursday, May 3rd (most of the day), Friday, May 4th (most of the day), Saturday, May 5th @ 5 pm or Sunday, May 6th @ 4 pm. If interested, please contact Jennifer Perrino at jenniferperrino@covedalecenter.com or 513.241.6550.

Please Note: If conflicts are numerous, this show will not be a good fit.

Rehearsals will take place at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts (4490 Glenway Avenue) until it’s time to move aboard the Showboat. Rehearsals will begin Monday, May 14, 2012. Rehearsals will run Sunday 6:00 to 9:30 pm. and Monday thru Friday 6:30 to 10:00 pm. Not all cast required at all rehearsals – it will be based on the specific rehearsal schedule.

*Please note: Rehearsal dates are subject to finalization based upon cast selections/availability. You may not miss the last five rehearsals.

  • Mon-Fri, May 14-18
  • Sun-Fri, May 20-25
  • Sun-Fri, May 27-June 1 (No rehearsal on May 28)
  • Sun-Fri, June 3-8. (May not miss/run could go late on June 7 & 8)
  • Sun, June 10 – Tech; Mon, June 11 – Dress; Tue, June 12-Final dress ( (May not miss/run could go late)

Compete Performance Dates::

  • Wed. June 13th – Thurs. June 14th – Fri. June 15th – Sat. June 16th – Sun. June 17th
  • Wed. June 20th – Thurs. June 21st – Fri. June 22nd – Sat. June 23rd – Sun. June 24th
  • Wed. June 27th – Thurs. June 28th – Fri. June 29th – Sat. June 30th – Sun. July 1st

Performances run Wednesday – Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
*Please note: There are TWO performances on Sunday, June 24th 2pm and 7pm.

Important Audition Information: You will be asked to read from the script.

Performer receive stipends as follows: $250.00 to $600.00 – Performers are compensated within this range. This is the full amount paid at the end of the final performance.

Volunteers Needed for Enchanted Story Woods

Hi all!

Anyone is interested in helping to mount a brand new outdoor event in the fall? Enchanted Story Woods is a project in conjunction with the the Delhi Park System and will take place at Story Woods in Delhi Township. It will be a family walk-through event that features historical and legendary characters, music and community interaction. The project needs writers, actors, technical crew (lighting and sound designers, etc) and other volunteers.
