Actor Needed for BELOVED MY FRIEND

Friends of Marjorie Book Continuing Education –

We are currently looking for someone to act in a few small roles in our current play production, BELOVED MY FRIEND, by Nancy Pahl Gilsenan, about two pen pals from the United States and Zimbawbe. We have a $250 stipend to offer the actor. The actor could be male or female, but we need them to be able to step into roles quickly and be flexible.

We have about 5 evening rehearsals over the next 10 days, and then we take a break from June 20 – July 6. We start up again on July 6 and rehearse and perform every night the following week, ending altogether on July 13.

Anyone interested should drop Joe Link a line at linkj@xavier.edu, and we can talk further.

Thanks, as always, for your support of Marjorie Book’s theater program.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF
September 6 – 30, 2012
by Tennessee Williams

In a plantation house, a family celebrates the sixty-fifth birthday of Big Daddy, as they sentimentally dub him. The mood is somber, despite the festivities, because a number of evils poison the gaiety: greed, sins of the past and desperate clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. This is a gripping and intensely moving play, a play that can hold its own. Brilliant scenes of sudden and lashing dramatic power, break open…There is no one moment in the evening when the stinging accuracy of Mr. Williams’ ear for human speech is not compellingly in evidence. Extras needed ANIMAL PLANET Filming

[Forwarded from OCTA]

I work for a television production company in London called Oxford Scientific Films on a series for Animal Planet called ‘Fatal Attractions’. This series looks into a great range of stories surrounding people who keep unusual and sometimes exotic animals as pets but the focus of our particular episode is snakes and we are following the story of Katherine Cyrus who was attacked by her father’s pet python in Las Vegas.

We are carrying out interviews with the family in West Virginia where they now live but part of the programme also includes some drama reconstruction where we hope to film a number of different scenes in and around Cincinnati in order to tell our story.

I was wondering whether any of your members might be interested in finding out more about the project or willing to help out as extras/actors for the programme and if we could get any more information to them about the project? We are likely to be filming between 1st-4th July and are looking for a variety of ages/genders etc to film with.

It would be fantastic to hear your thoughts on the above and whether you feel you might be able to help out at all.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Laura
