CMC Seeks Performing Arts Coordinator

Job Description:

As a part of the Special Exhibits Leadership Team, the Coordinator of Performing Arts works closely with the Manager of Special Exhibits, fellow Coordinators, and the Performing Arts Team to manage all aspects of the artistic division of Special Exhibits, and is able to assume the role of the Manager of Special Exhibits in his or her absence.

The Performing Arts Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing three main functions. First S/he is the lead artistic director for the Theater Specialist Team, developing and managing the audition process with the Manager of Special Exhibits, selecting repertoire and scenes to for the team and leading the team in rehearsals. Second, the coordinator will perform for the general public on occasion solo or with other members of the Performing Arts division. Third, the Coordinator will manage a Performing Arts Assistant who will assist the Coordinator in these tasks.

Incumbent also works closely with the Manager of Special Exhibits in the development and facilitation of large scale public programs and is expected to work effectively and professionally with other museum departments and the general public, maintaining a pleasant and helpful demeanor in any dealings with museum staff or the public.

Paid Acting Roles – Auditions July 18-20

VSM is currently casting 45 Training/Educational videos for CML in Lousiville, Kentucky from July 18, 2012 – July 20, 2012.

Seeking adults, 25-65 years old, all Ethnicities, who have a professional, business or office worker look. This is a paid, non-union casting for 20-30 second, non-broadcast scenes. Pay is $150/half day.

Very simple scripts that should take even lightly experienced actors two hours to half a day max. Open to actors with or without talent representation. Auditions will be held in 15 minute blocks with a taped reading from the scripts.

CTM Seeks Drama and Musical Theatre Instructors

Class instructors needed for fall season, Saturday mornings.

Also interested in finding educators to present 1-day (9:00-4:00) workshops (drama, music, theatre) throughout the school year on Saturdays when classes are not in session.

The mission of The Children’s Theatre of Mason, Inc. (CTM), a 501(c)3 organization, is to expose children to all aspects of theatrical production and help them develop an appreciation for the performing arts. CTM produces two large scale productions each season, most recently CATS and Disney’s Camp Rock.

Since its inception in 2003, CTM has sold over 34,000 tickets and included over 1,000 children in its family-friendly productions. CTM also offers an impressive variety of drama classes, workshops, and summer camps. By providing top quality Directors, Production Crew Members and Instructors, CTM is able to help children learn valuable skills, build their confidence, and take part in experiences that they will always treasure.

  3. Do you have a preference of plays?
  4. Are you bringing any production assistance with you? or have helpers in mind.
  5. What is your (calendar) availability?

Our usual rehearsal days are T/Th/Sun and we will discuss other scheduling issues
