She is the closest to family he has around, as his children have their own lives elsewhere.

If you feel you may be suited for the part, even if you are a non-actor, we are still interested in considering you.

Casting Call for Retro Radio Program

OPEN CASTING CALL

CASTING CALL FOR RETRO RADIO PROGRAM
Variety of roles to be filled

MISC_Casting callCINCINNATI—Local filmmaker Josh Flowers announced an open casting call for voice talent for a retro-style radio program to be held April 12 at the Cincinnati Public Library downtown.

Applicants are sought for the following roles:

  • Narrator: male, traditional announcer with deep, manly voice
  • Hero: male, classic mid-century radio superhero, lunkhead
  • Android: male, self-aware robot servant that is more human than our hero
  • Robot 1 & Robot 2: gender-neutral, robots

Voice actors may be hired for more than one role. The initial project will not be compensated and involves recording one episode of the series. If successful, there may be opportunities to perform roles on stage with compensation.

For more information or to schedule a time, please email Becky Haltermon at beckyhaltermon@gmail.com.

Casting Call Information

  • When: Saturday, April 12, 9 – 11 a.m.
Please email Becky Haltermon at beckyhaltermon@gmail.com to schedule a specific appointment time.
  • Where: Meeting Room 3B, Cincinnati Public Library Main Branch, 800 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202
  • WHO: Talented voice actors at least 18 years old. While the roles call for a retro, 1950s-era delivery, the script is humorous and would benefit from a reading that straddles the line between classic and modern.
  • PREPARATION: Voice actors will be provided with a short reading at the audition. It may be helpful to become familiar with 1940s and 1950s radio science fiction programs such as Dimension X, X Minus One, Suspense and Journey into Space. Voice actors are asked to bring a résumé, if they have one.

HTG Productions Seeks Keyboard Players

MISC_keyboardHonest to Goodness Productions, Inc., is in need of a keyboard player to accompany the group called “THE GRANDKIDS” which is an ensemble group of children, ages 8 to 14, who entertain at retirement communities. Each show is 45 minutes long. The accompaniest would have to be at the recreation center or retirement facility 15 minutes before the show. The shows are usually in the early evening. There are five or six songs to play — all very simple — and sound effects to to put in at places in the skits or monologues as the children are performing. The person interested would not have to bring the keyboard. I have a keyboard with sound effects and it would be an easy thing to put down the numbers for each effect and go along with the scripts. The show is a lot of fun!

Right now, the group is new; we have a gig in July and more will come up as our marketing gathers some speed. We are going in for “short” money till the group garners some performances and gets popular; to start, we could afford to pay a keyboardist $50 per show.

My name is Sunny Monnig, President of Honest to Goodness Productions, Inc., a 501(C)(3) charity corporation. We also have the group called “K.I.D.S.” which stands for “Kids In Difficult Situations,” that entertains in elementary schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.

For more information to know more about us, please go to our website at: www.kidshtog.org and click on the “GRANDKIDS” link. If you go through the various pages, you’ll get an idea of how we have operated for a number of years. Please call me or write to me if you are interested.
