Part-Time Ticketing Specialist needed at TCTC

TCT_logoPosition Overview: The Ticketing Specialist will assist the organization in fulfilling its mission of educating, entertaining and engaging our young audiences through professional theatrical productions and arts education programming.

The Ticketing Specialist of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCTC) reports directly to the Box Office Manager and the Sales Director.

Responsibilities:
The Ticket Office Specialist shall be responsible for:

  • Processing Season Ticket Orders.
  • Selling Single Ticket Orders.
  • Answering phone/email.
  • Assisting customers at the Box Office window at the Taft Theatre during performance dates.

The Ticketing Specialists duties include assisting in all aspects of the ticket office of the theatre, including but not limited to:

  • Audit
    • Daily balancing of season and single ticket sales.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
    • Process payments for season and single ticket accounts.
  • Other
    • All other duties and responsibilities related to the function of the ticket office as assigned.

In fulfilling his/her duties, the Ticketing Specialist will:

  • Work closely with the Box Office Manager and Sales Director to fulfill the mission of TCTC.
  • Be an advocate for TCTC in the community.
  • Consistently and accurately articulate the philosophy and policies of TCTC to the staff, patrons, and general public.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED, college education preferred.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work irregular hours in addition to regular business hours as requested.
  • Prefer Ticket Master selling experience, but not a requirement.

NET Seeks to Fill Production Positions

NETNew Edgecliff Theatre is seeking candidates to fill several production positions for their 2014-15 Season. All positions are paid a salary stipend per show. Assistant Production Stage Manager – New Edgecliff Theatre is looking for an Assistant Production Stage Manager for our 2014-2015 season. This is a staff position with a salary stipend per show. Job description includes but is not limited to: working closely with stage manager during rehearsals and shows; attending production/staff meetings; developing/producing paperwork for each production and serving as run crew during the run of production. Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly.

Master Carpenter – New Edgecliff Theatre is looking for a Master Carpenter for our 2014-2015 season. This is a staff position with a salary stipend per show. Job description includes but is not limited to: working closely with the Technical Director and is responsible for the implementation, loading-in, maintenance, and striking of the scenic design; attending all production meetings; participating in pre-production planning as it pertains to all elements of the scenic design; carefully oversightof the construction of the design; meeting completion deadlines as coordinated with the other design/tech areas; assisting in purchase and procurement building materials; and co-ordinating scenery with the necessities of the lighting design. Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly.

Costume Designer – New Edgecliff Theatre is looking for a Costume Designer for our 2014-2015 season. This is a staff position with a salary stipend per show. Job description includes but is not limited to: working with the Director of the Production to develop and communicate the overall conceptual approach to the production and identify costume pieces which are needed for the production; designing costumes that reinforce the production concept; working within the logistical parameters, within the budget available, and will be appropriate for the production; attending all production meetings; creating an entire costume plot, before the first dress rehearsal; participating in all technical rehearsals and strike; and attending the “post mortem” once the production is complete to evaluate the process and the final product. Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly.

Properties Master – New Edgecliff Theatre is looking for a Properties Master for our 2014-2015 season. This is a staff position with a salary stipend per show. Job description includes but is not limited to: working with the Director of the Production to develop and communicate the overall conceptual approach to the production and identify properties which are needed for the production; procuring properties that reinforce the production concept; working with the Stage Manager to develop a Master Prop List that reflects the needs of the production, works within the logistical parameters, within the budget available, and will be appropriate for the production, attending all production meeting; working with the Stage Manager to develop a property plot that identifies each prop, how the performer uses it, when it will be used, where it needs to be preset, and where it should be stored when not in use participating in all technical rehearsals and strike; and attending the “post mortem” once the production is complete to evaluate the process and the final product. Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly.

TCTC Seeks Experienced Freelance Carpenter

TCT_logoThe Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati is looking for an experienced freelance carpenter to help build four MainStage productions presented at the Taft Theater, a fundraising gala, and up to five touring ArtReach shows. This individual will work directly with the resident set designer/TD, as well as the shop foreman, in our fully-equipped scene shop.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: scenic carpentry, layout of scenic elements, basic scenic painting, equipment/tool maintenance, moving fabricated scenery in and out of storage facilities, refurbishing pre existing scenery, and working with local 5 IATSE crew for load-ins and strikes. Welding skills are a plus! Employment starts in August and consists of approximately 32 weeks of work, on and off, through April. Hourly rate negotiable, based on previous experience.

CSC Seeks Technical Director

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is looking for a Technical Director for their 21st season beginning July 1st, 2014 and ending July 5, 2015 (year round). Starting date is flexible if there are scheduling conflicts.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • hiring additional employees to fill positions such as Master Carpenter and Master Electrician;
  • organizing and overseeing strikes when a show has closed;
  •  occasional set or lighting designs if able;
  •  overseeing installs including electrics, set, props, and paint;
  • attending all production meetings and participating in planning and design discussions;
  • being present for all technical rehearsals and fixing any issues that arise;
  •  being on call during run of the show to address problems;
  • shop, equipment and van maintenance;
  • establishing and working within a budget;
  • tracking and reporting of monthly expenses.

The job requires someone who is detail oriented, budget conscious, safety minded, able to deal with tight schedules, and who doesn’t stop until the job is done.
