Directors Call for HOME BREW 10 at The Drama Workshop

The Drama Workshop is seeking directors interested in directing a 10-minute play as part of Home Brew Theatre 10. Home Brew Theatre is The Drama Workshop’s celebration of the short play format, presenting short plays by local authors.

There will be four performances of full productions of 9 or 10 short plays, followed by a “Meet the Artists” reception after each performance featuring local beer. HBT is in its 10th year and is the premier short play festival in Cincinnati. We’d love you to be a part of Home Brew’s 10th edition!!

If selected to direct, you will also play a role in final play selection. A short list of 17 plays will be given to directors to select their top 5. Those rankings will be used to select and assign plays to directors. 

Key dates:

  • Auditions are tentatively scheduled for 10/6-7/2026
  • Rehearsal Period Nov-Jan 2026
  • Tech Week: 1/10-14/2027

Four Performances:

  • Friday 1/15/2027 730pm
  • Saturday 1/16 2pm
  • Saturday 1/16 730pm
  • Sunday 1/17 2pm.

Music Director, Props Manager & Asst. SM Sought for SCHOOL OF ROCK at Loveland Stage Company

Loveland Stage Company’s production of SCHOOL OF ROCK is looking for a Music Director to help bring the music to life!

This involves recruiting and organizing the pit band, lead band rehearsals and help prepare the musicians for the show, attend rehearsals and work with the Director and Vocal Director to make sure everything comes together, conduct or lead the band during performances, be comfortable working with both adults and kids, and have experience with rock music and be able to capture the style and energy that makes School of Rock so much fun.

This is a stipend position.

Rehearsals start late November 

Tech Week: February 28 – March 4

Performances: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, March 5–21

Casting Call for OKTOBERFEST ZINZINNATI’S New Das Glockenspiel Stage

The Cincinnati Regional Chamber is seeking performers and supporting crew for the Das Glockenspiel Stage, a brand-new attraction debuting at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati as part of its 50th Anniversary celebration!

This is a paid stipend opportunity through the Cincinnati Regional Chamber.

This exciting live performance springs to life during the first eight minutes of every hour, just like a giant Bavarian cuckoo clock. Set in front of a charming Bavarian village façade featuring a working bell tower and clock face, the show begins as the clock chimes and its whimsical characters emerge to entertain the crowd. Inspired by the beloved glockenspiel shows of Cleveland and Tulsa Oktoberfest, the production blends Bavarian folklore, physical comedy, live music, dance, and Cincinnati-inspired humor into a lively, family-friendly spectacle. Each hourly performance transforms the village into a larger-than-life living cuckoo clock, creating a unique Oktoberfest tradition that guests will want to experience again and again.

Ashley Herbert and Paula Gerhardt are co-directing this new production, and we’re excited to bring this one-of-a-kind theatrical experience to the festival for the very first time.

The submission deadline is Sunday, August 2, 2026, at midnight, so it’s a quick turnaround. We’d be incredibly grateful if Behind the Curtain could help us spread the word to the Cincinnati theatre community as soon as possible.

Williamstown, KY – Stage Right Musical Theatre company is accepting submissions to fulfill various design positions throughout the remainder of its 2026-2027 season. All listed design positions are paid and Stage Right Musical Theatre Company welcomes and encourages people of all backgrounds, identities, and ethnicities to submit. Your unique perspective makes our company stronger.

Stage Right’s 10th Season consists of A Christmas Carol, and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Enchanted Edition).

A Christmas Carol by Christopher Barlow (December 4 -13, 2026)
Stage Right is accepting submissions to fulfill the following design positions: Stage Management, Costume Design, and Prop Design

Rodger & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (January 29 – February 7, 2027)
Stage Right is accepting submissions to fulfill the following design positions: Director, Stage Management, Sound Design, Costume Design.

Call for Submission for HOME BREW THEATRE 10 at The Drama Workshop

Home Brew Theatre is TDW’s festival featuring short plays by local authors, including a Meet the Artists reception where local beer is featured. Since Home Brew Theatre’s inception in 2016, it has quickly become Cincinnati’s premier short play festival.
