CLOS(IN)G: CASTING CALL
MISSION
American Legacy Theatre generates inviting, reimagined theatrical experiences for all people to have a voice in enriching society.
PROJECT
Clos(in)g is a new play by Megan Benjamin Bennett, developed through ALT’s Playwrights for Change residency program, that is in its 2nd round of workshops. Set inside a soon-to-be-shuttered apartment building, the piece explores family, love, and the constant act of code-switching to survive.
As neighbors face the loss of their homes, the story unpacks what it means to belong — and what’s at stake when communities are displaced. At its heart, Clos(in)g is about resilience, relationships, and the fight to hold on when the world tells you to let go.
TIMELINE
Video Auditions: NOW. Submit by Friday, September 4th, 2026 for first consideration. Auditions accepted after as well.
Rehearsals: December 6th, 2026- January 14th, 2027 (a two week unpaid break from December 21st, 2026-January 2nd, 2027).
Performances:
January 15th, 2027-January 31st, 2027 (Fridays-Sundays)

EXPECTATIONS
The Actor will structure, manage and execute the steps required to implement a high quality acting process that serves the integrity of the musical, bonds the other artists, aligns artistic vision, and heightens audience engagement with the piece.
COMPENSATION
This contract shall pay $130/week (there is no payment for the 2 week off from rehearsal from December 21st, 2027- January 2nd, 2027).
Artists are able to earn additional compensation for key audience referrals.
