Cast Announced for INSPECTING CAROL at The Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTWe had a lot of very talented people come to the auditions for TDW’s upcoming production of INSPECTING CAROL over the two days. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

As a director, it’s a good problem to have, as it allows for creation of a better ensemble. On the flip side, talented people who are friends or people with whom I’d like to work are going to end up not being cast, because there are only so many roles. For INSPECTING CAROL, we literally could have cast the show twice, and had excellent casts in both shows.

After determining if somebody *could* be cast or not, the casting process becomes not so much about any individual within a show, but how everybody fits together. Individual talent, once it reaches a certain level, is not as big a factor as the ensemble capabilities. We saw a lot of very good auditions, and they made our choices very tough.

With that, I’m pleased to announce the cast for TDW’s December 2017 production of INSPECTING CAROL:

MJ McMann – Kristy Rucker
Wayne Wellacre – Cameron James Baker
Zorah Bloch – Jody Hart
Sidney Carlton – Dennis Murphy
Dorothy Tree-Hapgood – Carolmarie Stock
Phil Hewlitt – BJ Simpson
Luther Beatty – Joe Hamzy
Walter Parsons – Ivory Mazur
Kevin Emory – Doug Tumeo
Bart Frances – Rick Hunt
Larry Vauxhall – Bill Keeton
Betty Andrews – Amy Sullivan

I cannot wait to see what these people do when we put them all together!

This summertime adventure features silliness for all ages when everyone’s favorite cat comes to mischievous life in this theatrical adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat that they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas, he is certainly loads of fun. He turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure… but what will mum find when she gets home…?

Cast Announced for NATURAL CAUSES at The Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTThe Drama Workshop is very pleased to announce the cast for its upcoming production of NATURAL CAUSES, written by Eric Chappell, directed by Ray Lebowski, and produced by Ray Persing.

We were gratified by the terrific turnout for auditions, and really appreciate everybody taking the time to come out and share their talents with us. Unfortunately, there are only so many roles in any show. Very qualified actors with good auditions, including close friends, sometimes don’t get cast because the ensemble works better with a different choice. Everybody gave great reads, and we’re looking forward to seeing everybody back at a TDW audition very soon!

The cast of NATURAL CAUSES is:

  • Walter Bryce – Eric Thomas
  • Vincent – Jeff Nieman
  • Celia Bryce – Rusty Lacy
  • Angie – Elizabeth Beatty
  • Withers – Glenn Schaich

We are still looking to fill some designer, backstage crew, and front-of-house positions for the show. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact me. Show dates are October 6 through 22.

Congratulations to Eric, Jeff, Rusty, Elizabeth, and Glenn! It’s going to be a great show!
