MEALS 4 MONOLOGUES On Dec. 4-5 & 7

(Cincinnati, OH) Dim the lights, raise the curtain! Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati hosts its 12th annual Meals 4 Monologues auditions. Actors from throughout the nation are invited to a general audition call to perform for D. Lynn Meyers, a member of the Casting Society of America (CSA), and are encouraged to make a donation to Cincinnati’s Freestore Foodbank.

The event, in an effort to support local food banks while auditioning local talent, will be held in-person on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and virtually via Zoom on Thursday, December 7 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This is an open casting call to all Equity union and non-union actors for future theatre, film, TV, and/or commercial projects cast by D. Lynn Meyers, CSA. This call is for all interested without regard to previous experience and with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion.

Sign-ups are now available and are and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Audition time slots are 3 minutes each and must be scheduled ONLINE at www.ensemblecincinnati.org/about/auditions.

To audition:

  • Upload a current HEADSHOT and RÉSUMÉ (DO NOT email them) during sign-up
  • Prepare a short monologue and song (must be performed a cappella), or two prepared monologues
  • Make a suggested donation to the Cincinnati Freestore Foodbank: https://bit.ly/M4M_23

The Freestore Foodbank is the largest emergency food and services provider to children and families in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana, distributing 33 million meals annually to low-income individuals and families. The Freestore Foodbank supports 511 community partner agencies serving 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. This includes food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, community centers, program sites, senior centers, and daycare facilities. The Freestore Foodbank is a member of Feeding America.

The Casting Society of America (CSA) is the premier organization of theatrical Casting Directors in film, television, and theatre. Although it is not a union, the CSA is a united professional society that consistently sets the level of professionalism in casting upon which the entertainment industry relies. CSA’s more than 490 members are represented not only in the United States, but also in Europe, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. “I am very proud to be a member of the Casting Society of America,” says CSA member D. Lynn Meyers. “The idea of Meals 4 Monologues came from a desire to always see new talent and to aid the community. I am delighted at the opportunity to see new faces and to spread outreach beyond the Greater Cincinnati area through this event.”

Auditions announced for RENT at Queen City Productions

QCP_logoRENT is the world-famous musical that tells the story of a group of friends struggling to survive in NYC surrounded by poverty, drug addiction and the AIDS epidemic at the end of the 20th century. The show is viewed through the lens of Mark Cohen, the common bond of the group and narrator of the show. It features such Broadway staples like, “Take Me or Leave Me,” “Out Tonight,” “One Song Glory” and “Seasons of Love.” Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of this powerful production.

Auditionees should:

  • be at least 16 years old
  • prepare a song from the Broadway or pop-rock repertoire. the song should also be one that tells a story and can show your acting ability as the show is considered a “rock opera” and is primarily told through song.
  • bring a backing track or be prepared to sing a cappella (no accompanist will be present)
  • be prepared to learn a short movement combination

Auditions Announced for ANNIE at Stage Right Musical Theatre Company

Williamstown, KY – Stage Right Musical Theatre Company is thrilled to announce auditions for their semi-professional production: “Annie the Musical” running January 26 – February 4 at the Williamstown Performing Arts Center. All Roles Available with evening rehearsals for kids beginning December 17 and adult roles beginning January 3. Seeking any and all actors ages 8 and older.

“The Sun’ll come out…tomorrow! The classic hit musical Annie comes to brilliant life this winter. Everyone’s favorite redhead charms everyone she meets in 1930s New York City. Dropped on the doorstep of an orphanage years ago, Annie longs to meet her true parents while escaping the wrath of orphanage owner Miss Hannigan. When the gruff billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites Annie to join him for Christmas, her dreams of family come to life in unexpected ways, befriending President Franklin D Roosevelt, foiling Miss Hannigan, and finding home in unexpected places. Annie the Musical is the perfect musical for the entire family. Featuring classic songs like “Tomorrow”, “Maybe”, and Miss Hannigan’s not-so-loving ode to the orphans she looks after: “Little Girls”.”

To audition please have prepared two contrasting songs in the style of the show (selections from the show are accepted) no more than 32 bars. A brief dance audition and cold readings will follow your music audition. Please bring a recent headshot and resume, and sheet music for your music with you to auditions.

This show is a semi-professional production. Compensation is determined based on previous professional credits and experience. Not all roles are compensated. This production, as part of our “community company” series, gives an opportunity for less experienced performers to work in a professional environment and gain credits before entering a professional theater experience.
