Auditions Announced for FOOTLOOSE at La Comedia Dinner Theatre

LAC_logoLa Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of FOOTLOOSE on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 10:00 A.M., at 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio.

SEEKING:

  • REN McCORMACK – (18-24) Athletic city boy, pop/rock voice, good dancer.
  • REVEREND SHAW MOORE – (40-50) Powerful, iron-clad minister, strong voice.
  • WILLARD HEWITT – (18-24) Ren’s friend, country boy, sings and moves well.
  • CHUCK CRANSTON – (20s) Ariel’s boyfriend, pop/rock voice, moves well, good-looking bad boy.
  • ARIEL MOORE – (18-24) Beautiful minister’s daughter with a wild side, pop/rock voice, good dancer.
  • ETHEL McCORMACK – (30-45) Ren’s Mother, single, attractive, good singer.
  • VI MOORE – (30-45) Minister’s wife, good singer
  • ENSEMBLE: Seeking an ensemble that sings and dances well.
  • TEENAGERS: (13-18) Ensemble teens

ALL ENSEMBLE ROLES WILL BE CAST FROM THE PRINCIPAL CALL AND DANCE CALL. Teenagers (13 years old and older) will be auditioning for ensemble roles ONLY.

All adults and teens should prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. Also be prepared to dance.

Rehearsals begin March 23, 2020.

Auditions Announced for Richmond (Ind.) Shakespeare Festival 2020 Season

RSF_logoRichmond (Indiana) Shakespeare Festival 2020 Season Auditions!

All roles in our 2020 Summer Season of RICHARD III and AS YOU LIKE IT are available. Equity and Non-Equity. A combination of Equity, Non-Equity, and College Age Interns will be used to complete the season. Housing provided, and some expense reimbursement for non-Equity. Interns operate under a different volunteer contract.

Auditions will be held in both Richmond, Ind. on Jan. 11 and Indianapolis, Ind. on Jan. 18

Prepare two contrasting classical monologues with a combined length not to exceed 3 minutes. Bring Headshot and Resume.

This 1939 comedy tells the story of four aging sisters who live in a small mid-western town, and their long-standing sibling rivalries. Three of them — Ida, Cora and Arry — have lived next door to each other for fifty years, and Esther, the eldest, lives only a few blocks away. We quickly learn that living so close to one another has taken its toll. Some start to question their lives and decide to make some changes before it’s too late. In 1980, MORNING’S AT SEVEN was nominated for the Tony award for Best Revival of a Play.

Auditions will be held on Monday, January 27, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Callbacks with be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. Clark State Performing Arts Center Kuss Auditorium

Prepare: 16 bars of song from a musical. An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music (no unaccompanied singing please). Headshot/resume preferred.

About the musical –
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Urinetown catapults the “comedic romp” into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

Auditions Announced for THE LAST FIVE YEARS at Village Players

VP_new logoAuditions for THE LAST FIVE YEARS by Jason Robert Brown will be held on Sunday January 5th at 3pm and Monday January 6th at 7pm at Village Players in Fort Thomas, KY. January 7th will be used for callbacks, if needed.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song showing your vocal range and storytelling ability, where possible. There will also be short monologues used for cold readings. Memorization not required for the singing portion but it’s encouraged. Auditions will be in a closed setting.

Bring known conflicts for mid-February through mid-April. Theatre resumes and headshots encouraged but not required.

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy telling her story backwards while Jamie tells his story chronologically. The two characters only meet once, at their wedding, in the middle of the show.

STAGE ages for Cathy and Jamie are both 22-29. Note these are STAGE ages.

Production dates: April 17-25.
