Online Auditions Announced for Disney’s DESCENDANTS at The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati

TCTC_new logoThe Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) is holding auditions ONLINE for the first MainStage production in their 102nd Season!

Submissions will be accepted only through THIS MONDAY, MAY 10, 2021.

TCT is the nation’s oldest children’s theatre. All roles are paid positions.

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati believes the stories on our stages and the work we do behind the scenes must reflect the diverse communities we serve. We believe inclusive work cultures spark wide-ranging, exploratory conversations and learning. Therefore, we strongly welcome and encourage people from all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, gender, gender identities, religions, abilities, and ages to apply as we continue our commitment to diversity and build an inclusive environment at TCT.

Auditions are by online submission only.

Young Artists currently in High School and Adults 18+ may submit an audition video. 
All actors in Disney’s Descendants must authentically portray characters ages 16+.

You MUST register online and include a youtube link (marked as unlisted) in the registration. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR VIDEO AUDITION.  If you need to cancel or make changes, please follow the link in your registration email.  Multiple slots for a single actor will be cancelled.  You will need to register for a specific time which will be used for internal purposes only, DO NOT REPORT TO TCT IN PERSON.

You may be asked to return and attend a “socially distanced” in-person callback if you are being considered for a certain role.  We will reach out directly to all auditionees we’d like to callback.  Callbacks will be held Mid June 2021.

PREPARE

Please prepare one memorized song that best shows your vocal range. (1-minute max). The song must be age appropriate and should reflect the style of the character(s) you are interested in being considered for.

You only need a song. You do NOT need to prepare a monologue.

You must submit a RECENT 8×10 headshot or photo and an UPDATED performance resume.

Due to concentrated rehearsal periods, we ask that you do not have conflicts during rehearsals. In an effort to best facilitate all rehearsal times, all those auditioning will be asked to list all conflicts at the time of the audition. Additional conflicts could result in a stipend adjustment. Please take note of when rehearsals begin, the day and evening tech and performance schedule, before submitting.

Auditions Announced for THE MEMORY OF WATER at Alibi Players

ALIBI_logoAlibi Players has weathered the long storm and is thrilled to announce we will be up and running with our September show THE MEMORY OF WATER by Shelagh Stephenson, directed by Alan Kootsher.

THE MEMORY OF WATER is the story of three sisters who have come together for their mother’s funeral. Vi, the mother, passed away from Alzheimers at 75 and appears to Mary as her 40ish reflection. The play is about relationships and how memories are shaped by our perceptions rather than actual events.

The show runs September 10, 11, 12 and 17, 18 and 19, 2021 at The Liberty Exhibition Hall in Northside.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 1-4pm and on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 7-9pm at

Roles:

  • Vi – The deceased mother of the three sisters she appears to the middle sister, Mary, as a 40 yr old woman.
  • Theresa – 43-45 year old sister who owns a health supplement store and is a poor me person.
  • Mary – 39 year old doctor who is in a five-year affair with Mike, a married doctor. She gave up a son at age 14.
  • Catherine – A 33 year old irresponsible run-around who lives on credit card debt and has ill-fated affair after affair. A pothead
  • Mike – Mary’s lover. Approximately 40-45 years old.
  • Frank – 45-50 years old. Theresa’s husband who hates owning the store. He wants to open a pub.

The setting will be modern day and takes place in Yorkshire England. So British accents are required. Please sign up for an audition slot below.

Rehearsals start August 1, 2021 and run Sunday afternoons 1-4pm and on Tuesday and Wednesday nights 7-9pm through Labor Day at The Cherry Grove United Methodist Church on Eight Mile Rd.

We also are pleased to announce our 2022 season. Our January 2022 show will be That Championship Season, by Jason Miller, directed by Alan Kootsher and our September 2022 show will be A View From The Bridge by Arthur Miller, directed by Tom Peters.

Auditions Announced for WE WILL ROCK YOU at Queen City Productions

QCP logo2Queen City Productions will be holding auditions for its summer musical, the regional premiere of WE WILL ROCK YOU, the musical by Queen and Ben Elton!

WE WILL ROCK YOU is a futuristic rock musical featuring the music of legendary rock band, Queen. It tells the story of Galileo, a young man who is tired of being told to fit in, in a world where everyone is the same and rock music has long since disappeared. So he sets out on an epic journey to find himself, and subsequently, bring rock and individuality back to the world. With songs like, “Killer Queen,” “Under Pressure” and “Somebody to Love,” you will not want to miss out on being a part of this awesome regional premiere!

Auditionees should:

  • Be at least 10 years of age
  • Prepare a rock, pop/rock, or Broadway pop/rock vocal selection that best showcases your vocal ability and personality. (vocal selections can be performed acapella or you can bring instrumental back tracks with you. No accompanist will be provided.)
  • Be prepared to do cold readings from the script
  • Be prepared to learn a short dance combination

Auditions Announced for IF THIS ISN’T LOVE at Mason Community Players

MCP_sm logoMason Community Players is holding auditions for its second virtual show of 2021.

MCP is presenting IF THIS ISN’T LOVE, two one-acts that explore the intricacies of relationships and the allure of love. Directed by Jay Fultz, the show will be aired as a live Zoom event July 9-11, 2021. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 8:00 PM with the Sunday matinee at 2:00 PM.

The first one-act, A Tale of Two Spectators, has two characters – one male, one female. Set in the course of one evening, these two individuals share their feelings as they watch their partners developing a relationship with each other. Will their visits to the same park bench over the past few months lead to a loving relationship for them, as well?

The second one-act, Why We Like Love Stories, weaves a tale of blooming love relationships and how they can become intertwined. This cast includes two males and two females and is best suited for younger performers, teens through early 30s.

Auditions Announced for CINCYDANCE! for Second and Third Graders at Cincinnati Ballet

Free summer classes will introduce children to ballet and other dance styles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Cincinnati, OH, April 25, 2021) — Join Cincinnati Ballet for a FREE summer dance experience connecting your second or third grader to the joy and discipline of dance! Any second or third grader in the tri-state area is invited to audition Saturday, May 15 at Cincinnati Ballet. To accommodate as many students as possible, there will be two audition times at 4 pm and 5 pm. (All details below) Following the audition, select dancers will be chosen to join CincyDance’s Ballet Foundations class, a nine-week program this summer that will teach children ballet fundamentals in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Classes are 2 hours with a 20-minute snack and water break provided by Cincinnati Ballet. The first hour of class will focus on a warm-up and ballet technique and the second half of class will include a guest teacher to introduce the students to dance styles including street, modern, and musical theater.

CincyDance! is a fully scholarshipped program designed to remove barriers and encourage racial, gender and economic diversity within the Otto M. Budig Academy. After the Ballet Foundations experience, five to six students will be given the opportunity to receive full, lifetime tuition scholarships to Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy. The Academy’s pre-professional training program provides students with a world-class dance education as well as performance opportunities with the Academy and Cincinnati Ballet’s professional company. Students may go on to pursue dance as a career pathway or as a personal passion. The May 15th audition is the beginning to a student’s exciting journey with Cincinnati Ballet and high-quality dance training.

AUDITION: 4 PM or 5 PM

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Any second and third grader in the tri-state area
