Aug. 20-28
The Art Center at Dunham [West Price Hill]

Directed by Don Frimming

The Pump Boys sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Pry country, and the Dinettes run the Double Cupp diner next door. With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform an evening of country and western songs on guitars, piano, bass and kitchen utensils.

8/26/21 Covid-19 Policy: Courtesy of a grant from the Hamilton County CARES Relief Program, the Arts Center at Dunham has been retrofitted with viral mitigation equipment within our HVAC blowers (click here for link to Plasma Air Ionizer info). We were also able to purchase an emist Electrostatic Sprayer to clean the theatre and common areas in the facility before each performance.  The Arts Center will  follow all local, state and federal requirements related to COVID for the health and safety of our patrons, performers and volunteers (including actors).
Note: Always verify the latest policy changes before attendance.

The Passing of Dave Myers

SSP_Dave MyersAdded Oct. 13:

From John Wesseling

Added Oct. 13:
I let many of you know who asked that I would share Dave’s Funeral arrangements as soon as I got them.

Sad to say, it seems that October is a busy month  for funerals.

So the Memorial Service will be Sunday October 18th from 3-5pm at Vitt and Stermer, 4619 Delhi Rd.

The funeral mass will be the next day at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory 810 Neeb Rd in Delhi.

Please keep his family and his theatre family in your thoughts!

Best!
John

Gang,
I just got the word that we lost Dave Myers at 3:00 this afternoon [10/10]. He lost his 6 year battle with Cancer. This is a sad day for all of us who knew and loved him!

While he was not the founder of Sunset, In many ways he was the foundation of Sunset. Especially tech wise.

As many of you know he was my friend and de facto big brother ( As well as Mike Burke’s and Jerry Yearout’s). For me that relationship lasted over 50 years. Many of the good things that I am today come from Dave’s influence on me.

Sunset’s reputation as a tech group comes from his incredible talents and how he shared them and trained all of us around him.

But most of all, he was an incredible wonderful person and a gentle soul who would help anyone who needed it. If you are a person who prays, please pray for Dave and his family.

His loss will leave a hole at Sunset which will be impossible to fill!

I’ll let everyone know the arrangements when I find them out.

Best to you all!
John

Season Update from Sunset Players and The Arts Center at Dunham

SSP_logoOpening of Sunset Players and the Arts Center at Dunham FREE Family Fun Series 2020/21 seasons are on hold and events will be resumed when safely possible.

The well-being of our patrons, performers and volunteers continues to be our utmost priority. Our Board continues to monitor the local COVID-19 situation as well as the federal, state and local mandates regarding indoor theatrical performances. Due to the uncertainty on when indoor theatre will be able to resume, we find it necessary to announce a delay in opening our 2020/21 season until early 2021.

Additional Information:

We were unable to complete the final weekend of the run of our award winning musical PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES in March and cancelled our spring production of LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR, the final show of our 40th anniversary season.

Those who purchased tickets for PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES as well as Season Pass holders who were unable to attend a performance of it and/or the cancelled spring production should have been contacted directly regarding refunds, exchanges and other options. If we somehow overlooked contacting you, please call Deb Case, our Season Ticket Chair, at (513) 418-1644 ASAP.

It was our plan to roll over the final production of last season to open the next one, which no longer appears possible. We will not be selling season passes for 2020/21 until it can be determined when and what will be possible.

We thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate these murky waters. We will continue to assess all options and inform you of any additional changes as they occur.  Look to your email and our social media channels for future updates, and most importantly, continue to take all available precautions to stay as safe as possible during this challenging time.
