Queen City Productions will hold auditions for its winter production of SWEENEY TODD, the musical thriller by Stephen Sondheim, September 28th and 29th.
SWEENEY TODD is the chilling tale of a barber who is out for blood. Sent away years ago, Sweeney is back and looking to take revenge on the crooked Judge and Beadle who wrongfully transported him and tried to take his family. With the help of the pie shop owner, Mrs. Lovett, can Sweeney exact his plan for vengeance or will the bloodshed be for not? Featuring songs like, “Johanna,” “Worst Pies in London” and “A Little Priest,” you won’t want to miss your opportunity to be a part of this production. It will be to die for!
- September 28th from Noon to 4:00pm
- September 29th from 6:30 to 10:00pm
Invited callbacks will be September 30th from 7:00-10:00pm
Auditions and callbacks will be held at:

- Auditionees should be at least 12 years of age
- Please prepare a song that best showcases your vocal ability and your personality. The song should be from the musical theater genre.
- Those auditioning may sing a cappella or may bring an instrumental backing track. There will be no one present to accompany on piano.
- Auditionees will also be asked to read from the script
Performance Dates: December 5th-15th over 2 weekends

The show tells the story of Drew and Sherrie, two star-crossed lovers in the “mid-to-late eighties, roughly.” They are both trying to make it big, Sherrie as an actress and Drew as rock-god. Of course, waiting up and down the boulevard to fame, are an array of people and situations that will test their love and their dreams, all underscored by some of the biggest 80’s rock anthems ever written. They will learn that sometimes the dreams you come in with, aren’t always the dreams you end up with, but hey, they still rock!

Queen City Productions will be holding auditions for its summer musical, the high energy, 80’s infused hit, ROCK OF AGES .
ROCK OF AGES tells the stories of the citizens of the Sunset Strip as they fight to keep their temple of rock from being torn down by the lame mayor and his team of developers! Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this epic show featuring songs like, “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” “The Final Countdown,” “Don’t Stop Believin;” and many more!
Auditions will be held:
- Saturday, May 4th from 12:00pm – 6:00pm
- Sunday, May 5th from 7:30pm – 10:00pm
- Invited Callbacks will be Monday, May 6th at 7:00pm

Auditionees must be at least 14 years of age to audition. Please prepare a song in either an 80’s pop/rock style or a pop/rock Broadway style (RENT, American Idiot, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, etc…). You can sing acapella or you can bring prerecorded accompaniment. There will also be a dance audition so please dress appropriately. Those auditioning may also be asked to read from the script.
