Writing Submissions Sought for BLIND EYE at Impaired Vision Productions

IVP_logoImpaired Vision Productions is seeking writing submissions for our upcoming staged reading series BLIND EYE, to be presented this Fall. As the main goal of this series is to present new work in a variety of forms, we are accepting all genres and structures of theatrical writing for consideration. Your script does not need to be a completed work as we will be presenting excerpts in additional to full scripts.

IVP_Blind Eye coming logoTo submit, please send a minimum of five pages of your writing, along with a brief synopsis and character breakdown to impaired.vision.productions@gmail.com by October 28th. If your script has received any level of production, please send a production history as well. We can’t wait to read and share your stories!

Impaired Vision Productions was founded by Artistic Director Robert Carlton Stimmel and Producing Director Kayla Vogel, with the intent to produce new works that challenge our audiences to view the human experience in different realms and perspectives. We intend to achieve this by encouraging our audiences, both experienced and aspiring, to branch out and envision themselves under a variety of artistic lenses, within a supportive and educational environment. Welcome to Katherine’s Earworm meetings, a support group for those that are plagued by a catchy tune that won’t let loose. Each week, the members come together to attempt to decipher the reasons why they each have their unique songs stuck with them. It’s at these meetings that Chris meets Rachel, and they quickly discover that the key to alleviating their Earworms, may just lie in each other. But when they finally discover the silence, how much are they willing to sacrifice to keep the quiet?

Additional Submissions for Two Male Actors Sought for EARWORM at Impaired Vision Productions

Available Roles:

  • Bob: ​mid 20’s to 30’s, Chris’s roommate, works night-shift, and a huge nerd. Bob is abnormal in all the best ways. He has unique tastes and is always caring and optimistic.
  • Tucker: mid 20 to 30’s, irritable, opinionated, and looking for answers. He dresses well and people often mistake him for being gay. Tucker is not closed minded, but he gets frustrated easily.

All roles will receive a stipend at the close of production

  • William: 30s to 40s, Earworm counselor, carries an aura of confidence and wisdom. William is the professor type and always wants to teach somebody something.
  • Bob: mid 20’s to 30’s, Chris’s roommate, works night-shift, and a huge nerd. Bob is abnormal in all the best ways. He has unique tastes and is always caring and optimistic.
  • Tucker: mid 20 to 30’s, irritable, opinionated, and looking for answers. He dresses well and people often mistake him for being gay. Tucker is not closed minded, but he gets frustrated easily.
  • Olivia: mid 20’s to 30’s, shy, awkward, and a hopeless romantic. Olivia puts her crushes on a pedestal but can’t muster enough courage to talk to them, let alone ask them out. She dresses in loose, baggy free-spirited clothing.

The roles of Chris and Rachel have been cast

All roles will receive a stipend at the close of production
