Directors Sought for FutureFest 2022 at Dayton Playhouse

DPH_logoThe Festival Committee is seeking Directors and Assistant Directors for FutureFest 2022

If you would like to express your interest in being considered as a director or assistant director for one of the plays in our 32nd FutureFest new play festival, July 15-17, 2022, please send an email to fpesch3@hotmail.com with your name and contact information: e-mail address and phone number. Interest e-mails are required for consideration and should be submitted by April 24, 2022.

Directors will be selected based on experience and those best suited for each play. If offered a play, you will have the opportunity to review it before committing to the project. FutureFest auditions will be May 23 and 24, 2022, with May 25th available for potential callbacks.

HELLO, DOLLY! Runs April 29-May 15

DPH_Hello Dolly logo5/12/22- Due to some positive Covid cases in the cast and orchestra and the required period of isolation, Dayton Playhouse is cancelling the HELLO, DOLLY! performances scheduled for Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14. Refunds for these performances will be promptly processed.

Dolly, the famed New York City matchmaker, receives her toughest challenge yet when rich grump Horace seeks a suitable wife. She successfully matches many others in the city, including Horace’s niece and two clerks, but everything seems to go wrong when it comes to matching Horace. Dolly finally realizes that maybe she’d like to marry Horace herself, but only if her late husband will send her a sign – and if Horace himself will have her.

Auditions Announced for HELLO DOLLY! at Dayton Playhouse

DPH_logoThe Dayton Playhouse requires anyone involved as a volunteer (cast or crew, etc), to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 and be able to show proof of that vaccination – should it be necessary.

Auditions (Feb 21 and 22, 2022) will be held starting at 7pm in the sanctuary of Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Dayton at 125 N Wilkinson (parking available across from the Church on First St) – main entry – masks required.

  • Have 16+ bars of music prepared that demonstrate your vocal range, an accompanist will be provided. No recorded music accompaniment or acapella auditions will be permitted.
  • There will be places in the lobby to fill out audition information.
  • No food or drink in the sanctuary.
