RiverStage regrets to announce that WHAT THE BELLHOP SAW has been cancelled.

Its run was originally scheduled for the weekends of June the 8th, and June the 15th.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our supporters.

A nice fellow checks into an expensive suite in New York City’s finest hotel, precipitating a fantastic nightmare involving a Salman Rushdie-type author, an Iranian terrorist, a vile wife from hell, a conniving bellboy, an incompetent FBI agent, a nubile celebrity-mad maid, a dimwitted secretary, and a little pig-tailed girl. INTO THE WOODS Runs June 7-16

esp_logoINTO THE WOODS
East Side Players
June 7-16
Blue Ash Amphitheater

Directed by Kate Brauer-Bell
Music Directed by D’Waughn Hazard
Choreographed by Anna Hazard

Official cast list

Be careful what you wish for … What if Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and the Baker and his Wife lived in the same story? All must venture into the woods to seek fulfillment of their deepest wish, but what they find there is that dreams are rarely simple and wishes are not often granted free of complications. This charming story is at once hilariously funny and deeply moving, a fractured look at the flip side of the classic fairy tales as only master storyteller Stephen Sondheim (composer of Sweeney Todd and Company) could imagine.

Unbeknownst to her, the pompous gods of the island make a bet over which is stronger, love or death – the stakes being Ti Moune’s life. When Daniel returns to his people, Ti Moune is shunned because of her lowly status. Her determination and capacity to love is not enough to win Daniel’s heart, and Ti Moune pays the ultimate price. Winner of the 1995 Olivier Award in London for Best New Musical, this show features exciting island-flavored songs, including “Waiting for Life”, “One Small Girl”, “The Human Heart” and “Why We Tell the Story”.
