With a staggering collection of over 75 of the most well-known songs from the most well-known films, ranging from Gone with the Wind to Footloose, Blame It on the Movies! is a delicious romp through cinematic history. You’ll be guided through a cavalcade of the most memorable music from the movies. Blame It on the Movies! features unforgettable tunes from The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, The Pink Panther, Rocky, Psycho, Jaws, Goldfinger, The Color Purple and countless others. It’s a fun-filled homage to movie musicals, screwball comedies, shoot-em-up Westerns, sizzling screen romances, thrillers, action-adventure flicks, historical epics and auteurs alike.

PRODUCTION TIMELINE:
Rehearsals will take place at our rehearsal space located at The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. Rehearsal dates are subject to finalization based upon cast selections/availability. Not all cast is required at all rehearsals.
Rehearsals:
- Rehearsals begin the week of December 13th
- Adjustments to the rehearsal schedule will be made to account for the holiday season
- Rehearsals run every Sunday-Thursday through Wednesday, January 20th
- Sunday rehearsals run 6:00-10:00; Weeknight rehearsals run 6:30-10:30
- A detailed rehearsal schedule will be published for the cast closer to the start of rehearsal
Tech Rehearsals:
- May Not Be Missed
- Sunday, January 17-Wednesday, January 20 from 6:00-11:00pm
Performances:
- January 21-February 14, 2027
- Thursday-Saturday Performances at 7:30pm
- Sunday Performances at 2:00pm
IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION:
Production Notices
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
- No roles have been precast
- All roles are paid positions
- Housing and transportation are not provided and are the responsibility of the actor
Audition Information
- All Individuals must arrive at the top of the audition call (2:00 – Saturday & 6:00 – Sunday) to learn the dance call
- Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show
- Please bring sheet music that is clearly marked for our accompanist
- Must have a resume listing theatrical experience
- Complete the following audition form Blame It On The Movies Audition Form
- All auditionees will receive notice within 1 month of auditions about final casting decisions

Roles
- The production features eight roles available for performers of any background. In a deliberate effort to foster creative casting, all eight roles are open to all ages, genders, ethnicities, and vocal ranges.
