Oct. 14-17
[Falmouth, Ky.]

It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar – are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

THE WEST END
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
Oct. 9-Nov. 7
Marx Theatre [Eden Park]

Directed by Nicole A. Watson

Cast: Brian D. Coats as Peek, LaTonya Borsay as Grace, Shanelle Leonard as Chloe, Kevin Cristaldi as Zieglar & Amara James Aja as Heath

It’s 1941 in Cincinnati’s historic West End. Every day, the region grows as Black Americans migrate from the Deep South and forge new lives in northern cities. At the same time, German residents face growing hostility as the U.S. teeters on the brink of World War II. Grace, who has fled the South and settled in the West End, houses people of both backgrounds in her row house. When a stranger arrives in the middle of the night in her backyard, Grace must confront the secrets of her past and the irrevocable ripples they have made on her present. This world premiere drama by Cincinnati native Keith Josef Adkins shines a light on a transformative chapter of our city’s history. Recommended for ages 13 and up. This historical drama finds characters wrestling with mature topics like racism, war, xenophobia and adult relationships. They discuss these with in-depth wisdom and stoicism, though not without occasional adult language and a few acts of violence.

9/9/21 Covid-19 Policy.

[Dayton]

Directed by Margie Strader
Produced by Deirdre Root

Cast: Cassandra Engber as Mary, Peggy McDonald Allen as Jo, Heidi A. Porter as Liz, Valkyrie Williams as Amanda, Jimmy Fritchman as Trenner & Alex Carmichael as Jackson/Kirk

Divorcées Mary and Jo are suspicious of their friend Liz’s new boyfriend, who is just plain creepy. He’s a dentist with a copy of Silence of the Lambs in his waiting room and an antique dentistry collection in his basement — and worse, he may be a serial killer! His missing hygienist was just found dead, apparently murdered by a dental instrument. Trading their wine glasses for spy glasses, the ladies try to discover the truth and save their friend before it’s too late.
