Come along as we travel with Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion as they head to Emerald City to see the great Wizard. Their encounters with the Wicked Witch, the Munchkins, and the flying monkeys are just some of the adventures they will have along the way! This delightful stage adaptation based on the classic film features timeless songs such as “Over The Rainbow,” “Munchkinland,” “If I Only Had A Brain,” “We’re Off To See The Wizard,” “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead,” “If I Were King Of The Forest,” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz,” to name just a few!

Alfredo wants to be with Violetta, but love can mean different things. Alfredo toasts to true love and affection that endures, while Violetta celebrates desires that are fun, free, and fleeting. Persuaded to try another way of life, she agrees to stop playing games. But old habits die hard. Featuring one of opera’s ultimate soprano roles, La Traviata explores the passions and pitfalls of the heart. Will Violetta find love that lasts, before it’s too late? Sung in Italian with projected English translations.

Auditions Announced for DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE at Mariemont Players

MPI_logo 2020Mariemont Players, Inc. is pleased to announce auditions for our production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the novella Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, directed by jef brown and produced by Pam Kaesemeyer and Amy Stier.

Audition Dates/Times:

  • Monday, June 24 – 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 25 – 7:00 p.m. 

Callbacks (if needed) will take place Wednesday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Mariemont Players – 4101 Walton Creek Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227

Audition Requirements:

  • Please bring a theatrical resume. Headshots are appreciated, but not required.
  • Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
  • Please provide conflicts between September 10 and November 17.

Production DatesOctober 31 – November 17, 2024

Synopsis: On the streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll’s experiments unleash his other self, the villainous Edward Hyde. When Jekyll decides to end his experiments, Hyde has other ideas. Multiple actors portray Hyde’s dark complexities in this innovative retelling of the legendary tale of horror.

Casting

The cast will consist of four actors and two actresses, 20s and older:

  • Dr. Henry Jekyll
  • Utterson; Hyde
  • Inspector; Hyde
  • Enfield; Carew; Hyde
  • Poole; Hyde
  • Elizabeth Jelkes 

Other roles to be distributed among these (except Jekyll) include: Lanyon; Sanderson; Carew; Little Girl; Medical Student; Prostitute; Old Woman 

Additionally, another one or two actors may portray orderlies, passersby, lurkers, hangers-on, shadows in the mist, etc.

From New York to Paris, from ragtime to jazz:  THE HELLO GIRLS chronicles the story of America’s first women soldiers in this new musical inspired by history.  These intrepid heroines served as bilingual telephone operators on the front lines, helping turn the tide of World War I.  They then returned home to fight a decades-long battle for equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations.  THE HELLO GIRLS was commissioned and premiered by NYC’s Prospect Theater Company to celebrate the centennial of these groundbreaking women.
