Jonathan loves sports and hanging out with his close circle of friends. When he is sidelined by an injury that leaves him temporarily blinded, the only classmate brave enough to visit him in the hospital is Hilda, a quirky loner. Her amusing letters and relentless encouragement help him heal, while teaching him valuable lessons about the importance of looking beyond appearances. When Jonathan returns to school and turns his back on Hilda, they both learn about true friendship in this funny and moving play. Recommended for grades 3-6.

Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, HONK! will treat you to equal amounts of laughter and tears, with its charm, humor and message of tolerance.

From Washington D.C. to Paris, France to Hawaii – all for the cost of a postage stamp! But will he ever be 3-dimensional again? After an accident leaves him flat, Stanley Lambchop makes the most of his new shape, embarking adventures courtesy of the U.S. Postal Service! Covedale Center Hosts HANSEL AND GRETEL on April 28

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts Saturday Morning Children’s Series continues with the Grimm Brothers’ classic, HANSEL AND GRETEL.

Located at 4990 Glenway Avenue, the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts continues to grow as the region’s most exciting theatrical venue by featuring the best in local performers and performances.

Our 11am Saturday Morning Children’s Series continues with a performance of HANSEL AND GRETEL as told by the Frisch Marionette Company.

The timeless story of Hansel and Gretel brings some of life’s most important lessons to the stage. Exquisite marionettes, costumes and settings combine with the spellbinding melodies of Engelbert Humperdinck to bring one of the most classic fairy tales to life.

Produced and directed by Kevin Frisch.
