The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati presents Annie JR.

TCTC_Annie JrCINCINNATI – Leapin’ Lizards! The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati opens its 89th MainStage season with a production of “Annie JR.” at the Taft Theatre October 18-20 & 26, 2013. The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.

The show will be directed and choreographed by Roderick Justice. Book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, presented on Broadway by Mike Nichols, originally produced by Irwin Meyer, Stephen R. Friedman, Lewis Allen, Alvin Nederlander Associates, Inc., The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Icarus Productions. Based on “Little Orphan Annie”(r) by Permission of The Tribune Media Services, Inc.

Falcon Takes Flight with its First Summer Camp for Kids

FT_logoFalcon Theatre is excited to present a summer workshop opportunity for students entering grades 7, 8 or 9. Students enrolled in FALCON TAKES FLIGHT will work with local theatre professionals to produce a play: Alice in Wonderland created by the Manhattan Project.

The program will run Monday- Friday, Starting June 24th through Wednesday July 17th from 12pm -5:30pm. Each day will be divided into 2 parts. Half of the day will be theatre workshops, while the other half of the day will be rehearsal. Show dates will be July 18th, 19th and 20th. The four week workshop will be held at Monmouth Theatre: 636 Monmouth St, Newport, KY 41071. Cost for this program is $200.00. Space is limited. Spots will be reserved on a first come basis.

Musical Theatre Summer Programs at the Aronoff Center for the Arts

CAMP JERSEY!
Session 1 – June 3-14
Session 2 – June 17-28
CAMP JERSEY is an opportunity for young performers, ages 8-17, to participate and learn the “ins and outs” of the world of musical theatre. With daily voice, dance and acting classes, campers will work side-by-side with professionals and perform in their own showcase at the end of camp.
9:30am-1:00pm with classes split for age levels – $175
(Discounted from $300 with thanks to the Greater Cincinnati Foundation-Rental Subsidy Grant at the Aronoff Center)

CAMP JERSEY AUDITION! June 3-7
Camp Jersey Audition is a week long camp for students ages 10-17 focusing on age-appropriate audition materials and preparation in dance styles, singing, acting & improvisational skills. 1:00-3:30pm – $125

CAMP JERSEY INTENSIVE! June 10-14
The one-week version of CAMP JERSEY – is an opportunity for young performers, ages 8-17, to participate and learn the “ins and outs” of the world of musical theatre. With daily voice, dance and acting classes, campers will work side-by-side with professionals and perform in their own showcase at the end of camp.
12:30-3:30pm with classes split for age levels – $125

CAMP JERSEY PRODUCTION! June 17-28
Ages 11-17 – this two week camp will conclude with a full production.
Lights, sound, costumes…let’s put on a show!
1:00-4:00pm – $200

Tuition includes show T-shirt, costume, & 4-pack of tickets to the final show. (Regular price tickets will be $9 – $12 each.)

Private Voice/Acting Instruction in musical theatre is also available.
