Musicians Needed for THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME at Queen City Productions

QCP_logoQueen City Productions is looking for some musicians to fill the remaining spots for their orchestra for their regional premiere production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. The spots we still need are:

  • Drums/Percussion
  • Reed 3
  • Trombone
  • Trumpet 1
  • Trumpet 2
  • Viola
  • Violin 1
  • Violin 2
  • Keyboard 1

The first run with the cast will be Friday, August 4th at 7pm. Then everyday from August 6th through the final performance on August 13th. Once all spots are filled, the orchestra can set up a rehearsal schedule that will work for them. We may also be looking for someone to conduct the orchestra as well.

Educational Theatre Association—Project Engagement

EdTA_logoThe Educational Theatre Association is looking for someone comfortable working with illustrator/adobe creative cloud and pantone color books.  Approximately 250 logos require updating to match the current pantone color model. This is a short term engagement of about 50-60 hours and will pay approximately $500.

Actors Needed for THE ARSONISTS at Know Theatre of Cincinnati

KTC_logoHEADS-UP! We’re looking for a couple actors for THE ARSONISTS, MainStage production rehearsing August 28 – September 21 and performing September 22 – October 15.

Audition window: June 25 – 30, by appointment only.

Know Theatre of Cincinnati seeks one man and one woman for upcoming rolling world premiere of THE ARSONISTS by Jacqueline Goldfinger.

Know seeks to represent diverse perspectives, voices, and individuals on our stages. Actors of all ethnicities and backgrounds are encouraged to submit!

Characters –

  • H – man, must read as late 40s – mid 50s (has daughter in her 20s), rough around the edges, plays acoustic guitar and sings.
  • M – woman, 20s. Has lived by the skin of her teeth up to now. Plays acoustic guitar and sings.

Guitar skills are a must! The show is interwoven with traditional and folk tunes, played live onstage.

***Please only respond to this notice if you have guitar experience.***

If you have experience with other instruments such as banjo, mandolin, or ukelele, please let us know.

Audition Requirements

  • All applicants should be prepared to play a brief song, folk/country/gospel style, accompanying themselves on acoustic guitar. Know Theatre can provide a guitar for audition purposes.
  • All applicants should come prepared to read a side or two from the script, in addition to your prepared material.

Compensation
Know Theatre acting positions are competitively paid positions for both AEA and non-union roles. Know Theatre productions rehearse six days per week, an average of 30 hours per week. Rehearsal schedules vary from production to production.

Actor Needed for Ernst Ludwig in CABARET at Warsaw Federal Incline Theater

(Non-Dancing/Spoken role – Adult male – 30s to 50s years of age)
Ernst is Cliff’s first German friend, whom he meets on a train car traveling from Paris to Berlin.

Please note: Brief singing vocals, tenor or bari range but is mostly a spoken role.

Resident Artist Company Music Director Sought by The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati

TCT’s mission is to educate, entertain and engage audiences of all ages through professional theatrical productions and arts education programming.  We fulfill our mission through four primary programs:

  • TCT MainStage – We welcome 107,000 children, teachers, and family members from across the region, to one of our four family-friendly and professional musical theatre productions at the historic Taft Theatre.
  • TCT On Tour – We see over 47,000 children and their families at one of our touring performances or during an arts-integration workshop or residency.
  • TCT Academy – Over 750 children will be provided fine arts instruction, including the group that participates in summer intensive STAR summer programs through which we offer professional musical theatre training to some of the region’s most talented youth.
  • TCT Showtime Series – Our newest division, creating a premium theatrical experience in an intimate theatrical setting, located at our new facility on Red Bank Road.

Position Overview

The Resident Music Director/ Teaching Artist is part a team of production assistants in the TCT Resident Artist Company.  Each Artist is responsible for the quality and success of assigned projects, and/or theatrical productions, including but not limited to MainStage, The Showtime Stage Series, TCT on Tour, TCT Academy, or special outreach projects.  The Production Assistant, Artist teaches with the TCT Academy, as assigned.  Depending on the Production Assistant project track for the season, the Production Assistant/Artist, may be asked to take on into a variety of creative and administrative duties as schedules would allow.  The Production Assistants works closely with teachers, students, and the other members of the Production department, but each report directly to a different branch within the organization.

The Resident Music Director reports directly to the Producing Artistic Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying scripts for development in TCT Academy, TCT MainStage, TCT on Tour, and The Showtime Series.
  • Developing and implementing new projects/events associated with TCT Divisions.  (ie: Theatrical College Prep Convention)
  • Working with Marketing Department to cultivate audience growth.
  • Scouting potential for collaborations with other organizations or companies.
  • Representing TCT at industry events.
  • Teaching between 2-4 classes per session, unless excused to focus on a larger project.
  • Acting as the Resident Music Director for the organization.
  • Assisting with casting for musicals.
  • Playing piano for auditions.
  • Assisting TCT on Tour with production needs.
  • Compose/arrange music.
  • Create orchestrated tracks for new works.

Desired Qualifications:

A gifted collaborator with demonstrated ability to oversee projects. You must possess a high degree of integrity and transparency, a strong problem solver with a win/win attitude. We are seeking someone who is skilled at managing successful teams, with excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral.  You must possess the ability to connect with young audiences and students to teach valuable lessons pertaining to the performing arts.

Must be able to compose and arrange music.  Must be proficient in orchestrating tracks.

Ideal experience:

2 years of teaching experience, 2 years of project management experience.

Starting Salary:

$25k
