CANCELLED: MATC Auditions for GOOD OL’ GIRLS

MATCThe Mad Anthony Theatre Company’s auditions and production of GOOD OL’ GIRLS have been cancelled. Thank you for your interest in the Mad Anthony Theatre Company and the Fitton Center.

The Mad Anthony Theatre Company at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts announces auditions for the regional premiere of the musical Good Ol Girls, a musical about 5 southern women who tell their stories through song, monologues and some dialogue.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7 at 7 PM at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, 101 South Monument Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45011.

Casting needs include 5 Women, stage ages 20-60. Come prepared to sing one verse of a song; a pianist will be provided. Also bring a list of any conflicts you may have from March 19 to May 26.

TCTC Announces Auditions for CINCINNATI: CITY OF IMMIGRANTS

TCT_logoThe Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati is holding auditions for its CINCINNATI: CITY OF IMMIGRANTS winter/spring ArtReach tour. The tour runs through June 2013 and requires six actors, three male and three female. Actors are contracted and paid per performance. Please email Deondra at deondra.means@thechildrenstheatre.com or call 513.569.8080 ext. 19 to schedule an audition.

Auditions are

  • Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4-9pm
  • Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 4-8pm

Characters include:

 

  • Katerina – German immigrant girl who arrives in Cincinnati with her family around 1848
  • Conner – Young Irish immigrant who arrives in Cincinnati in 1852
  •  Bessie – Former slave who walked from her home in Alabama to Cincinnati in 1866
  • Samuel – Hat maker and Russian Jewish immigrant arriving in Cincinnati in 1897
  • Jenny – 16 year-old high school dropout who arrives in Cincinnati in 1949 from Pikeville, Kentucky
  • Javier – Early to mid-20’s Mexican-American who arrives in Cincinnati in 2007 from Modesto, California

History comes to life with CINCINNATI: CITY OF IMMIGRANTS, written by celebrated playwright, Joseph McDonough. The story follows six fictional characters that immigrated to Cincinnati over a 150-year period. German, Irish, African-American, Jewish, Appalachian, and Hispanic characters weave together their common experiences-meeting new people, encountering discrimination, overcoming adversity, and bringing parts of their culture to a new home.

CINCINNATI: CITY OF IMMIGRANTS is the perfect forum for both students and members of the community to learn about regional history and gain a perspective and insight into other cultures.

TCP Announces Auditions for NUPTIALS

TCPTri-County Players auditions for the spring show, NUPTIALS by Judy Simpson Cook

Where : the Sharonville Fine Arts Center
When : Jan. 29, 30 at 7 pm

Cast : 5 men, 6 women, one female child age 7-10 [2 couples in their late twenties/early thirties, all other adults are 40’s plus.]

Character descriptions:

  • Caroline/Bride- polite, but is getting frustrated
  • Mark/Groom- nervous, and swayed by a friend
  • Jerry/ Grooms ’obnoxious friend
  • Kitty/Bride’s loud sister
  • Barbara/ Status conscious Mother of the Bride
  • Father, who’s footing the bill
  • Pushy Wedding Planner
  • Arty Florist
  • Down home inept Caterer
  • Faithful and insightful Housekeeper
  • Minister, very traditional
  • Quiet, sloppy Child who follows everyone around

Audition requirement: Cold readings from the script.

Show synopsis: Caroline is to marry her childhood sweetheart. Her mother is taking care of “every detail”. As the wedding gets closer, Caroline’s own wishes for her wedding seem to be ignored. The final straw is when Mark informs Caroline that his obnoxious best friend will be the best man. Finally Caroline has had enough and says “I’ve cancelled my part”. Nobody believes Caroline is serious about calling off the wedding and they continue with preparations. But when the strains of “here comes the bride” begin, will she?

Performance dates: – April 19, 20, 21 26, 27 in 2013

VP Announces Auditions for THE SISTERS ROSENWEIG
