VP Announces Auditions for EVIL DEAD

VP_logoEVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL
Presented by Village Players of Fort Thomas

Directed & Choreographed by Ivory Mazur
Music directed by Alan Masters
Stage Managed by Tatiana Godfrey

About the Show
Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes… and all to fun and catchy music.

You don’t need to be a fan of EVIL DEAD to love this show. You don’t need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don’t even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun… this show is for you.

Critics, fans, theatre lovers, theatre haters, and just about anyone who happens to find themselves at this show all agree – this is the best thing since sliced veins!

Endorsed by Bruce Campbell, embraced by Sam Raimi, this is the official real deal live stage show of the cult classic film trilogy. Let there be Chainsaw. Let there be Boomstick. Let There Be BLOOD!

What’s the show that people keep returning to again and again, sometimes yelling the lines along with the actors and sometimes interacting with lines of their own? You might think ROCKY HORROR, but in this case you’d be WRONG. It’s EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL, the surprise hit that’s painting Fort Thomas BLOOD RED!

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE is the story of those two lovely, kind, sweet, generous, helpful, giving murderers. They are surrounded by family, of all sorts, friends and victims.

  • Abby Brewster, is a strong minded lady in her middle to late 60’s who has lived all of her life in Brooklyn with her sister, Martha. They have never married, but have spent their lives sharing the family’s Victorian home and raising their nephews. They have a brother. Oh brother!
  • Martha Brewster, is similar in age but a little less of a leader and more of a follower. She and Abby are a united front against the world, but Martha knows how to take her marching orders.
  • Teddy Brewster, well what can we say. Teddy is also of a similar age but has a problem. Yes, he really believes he is Theodore Roosevelt and has the bearing of a president. The president. The Panama Canal. If cast, you will need to remember this, is will be important later.
  • Mortimer Brewster, is a relatively young man, around 30 or so and is a theatre critic for a New York newspaper. He hasn’t lived with his aunts in several years but comes back fairly often now as he has fallen in love with the Reverend’s daughter and she lives next door, past the graveyard. He is normally a level headed guy, head-over-heels in love with Elaine that is until his brother comes home.
  • Elaine Harper, yes she’s the one Mortimer is in love with. She is a bit younger than he is and is a real “PK”. She can’t wait to get married as does Mortimer. That is until Jonathan shows up.
  • Jonathan Brewster, his age is hard to determine as he has undergone so many plastic surgeries, committed so many murders and a few other really nasty things. He’s coming home to hide out. Poor guy is tired and needs more plastic surgery.
  • Dr. Einstein, is the incredibly gifted uh, plastic surgeon and Jonathan’s partner in crime. He is timid and a drunk which is the only way he can handle being with Jonathan who he is afraid of. Good thinking. He is in his 40’s or so. He is German and has a German accent. Doesn’t have to be the best of accents.
  • The Rev. Dr. Harper, Elaine’s father and is apparently a widower. An amiable fellow in his 60’s and loves his daughter and becomes increasingly disturbed about Mortimer.
  • Officer Brophy and Officer Klein, are the best beat cops that Brooklyn has to offer. Ages not important.
  • Officer O’Hara, has written a play (remember that Mortimer is a critic) and can’t wait to tell old Mort all about it. Not the best cop, or playwright for that matter, but an affable fellow of around 25 or so.
  • Lieutenant Rooney, is very Irish, very much in charge and a cop to the core. He is chasing after O’Hara who hasn’t checked in recently.
  • Mr. Gibbs, should not drink Elderberry Wine. A fellow of 50 or 60 or so.
  • Mr. Witherspoon, is the head of the “home” Teddy needs to go to, really. Somewhat of a mild or self-effacing fellow. Age is over 40.
  • There is a dead body or two, but not to worry.
