Video Auditions Announced for MCBRIDE’S CALL at Inspiring Arts Productions

IAP_logoWe are specifically seeking teens and adults who are strong choral singers, as well as anyone with Irish dance experience. Some of our recording cast from last summer will be returning, but we will be auditioning for double cast and vacated roles, as well as many ensemble parts.

We are not holding open auditions for children under 14 for this production.

Initial auditions will be by video submission, DUE APRIL 30, 2021.

For character breakdown and show synopsis, as well as additional information about this brand new musical,
please visit the MCBRIDE’S CALL website.

Note: Inspiring Arts is senstive to the fluctuating COVID circumstances, and specific production plans could still change based on venue and state guidelines.

How to Audition

  1. Prepare your audition

    SINGING
Please sing two minutes of a Broadway-style song that best showcases your voice. You may sing acapella or with a track, but please make sure your voice can be heard easily above the track.

    MONOLOGUE
If you are interested in a speaking role, please prepare a monologue from the monologue sheet (below). Please try with your best British or Irish accent.

    Click to download monologue document

  2. Record your audition
We need a recording from your phone of you from the waist up, on a basically neutral background. We would like enough light to see you and low background noise so that we can hear you clearly. Upload your song and monologue to Youtube. Mark the videos as “Not intended for kids,” and then save the video as UNLISTED. You will paste the Youtube link into your audition form (below).

  3. Fill out and submit our audition form.
The link below will open a new webpage with our audition form. Please note all conflicts and give us as much information as you can. Use the Note field to further explain. Significant conflicts will affect casting decisions, and NO conflicts will be accepted during tech weeks. When you’re finish… hit submit and you’re done!

Auditions Announced for THE BOOK OF MONSTERS at InBocca Performance

IBP_logoAnnouncing auditions for InBocca Performance’s summer production, THE BOOK OF MONSTERS!

This production is unlike anything anyone is offering in the Greater Cincinnati Area for kids in theatre this summer! Working with InBocca, your child will create an original devised theatrical production containing original music, dance, and writing. This means that our kids write their theatre themselves over the course of a month–and this isn’t ‘children’s theatre,’ but amazing, bleeding edge theatre made by kids but polished and presented to all audiences.

This summer, we are exploring the monster that lives under the bed, in the closet, beneath the dark waves, in our most frightening dreams, and in our oldest folk tales. Venture up to the attic, open the creaking pages of a book, and read the stories you find there…if you dare.

“She who fights with monsters should see to it that, in the process, she does not in turn become a monster herself.”

When: May 16th, 2021

Time: 1pm-4pm. Cold readings and movement at 1pm, Dance auditions beginning at 2pm. Dance is optional.

Where: TBA (updates will be on the FB event)

Prepare: Nothing. Actors will be asked to do cold readings and movement. Please come dressed for movement. Dancers please come ready to dance.

Who is eligible: Incoming grade 3-outgoing grade 12; All schools, races, sexualities, identities. All are welcome.

Show Times: Rehearsals begin July 5th (M-F, 9am-2pm), with shows July 29th-Aug. 1st.

PLEASE NOTE: We have not yet determined if this show will have a live audience due to Covid-protocols. It is our hope to do so, however, the performance space if very, very small and we wish to accommodate all. Updates to come.

Price: Camp costs $200/child for the month. That being said, we want all kids to be able to enjoy theatre. If, for some reason, this price is not available to you, please contact us privately.

Questions can be sent to Caroline Stine: info@inboccaperformance.com
