The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Presents RUMPELSTILTSKIN on the Showtime Stage

Remember his name!  The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) brings an exciting 45-minute performance of RUMPELSTILTSKIN presented by TCT On Tour (TCT’s touring division) to the Ralph and Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage March 15-17, 2019.

​TCT retells this classic tale of the miller’s daughter, her boastful father, a handsome prince and the ability to spin straw into gold. Discover the magic and wonder of one of the world’s best loved fairytales.

The 4-person cast includes members of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Resident Artist Company:  Joey Logan, Ryan-Chavez Richmond, Brandi Langford-Sherrill and Maddie Vaughn.  The production was directed by Deondra Kamau Means.  Thematic Connections include:  Literary Classic, Reading, Folktales, Fairytales, Self-Esteem, Friendship, Kindness, Strength of Character, and Bullying. 

RUMPELSTILTSKIN is most enjoyed by those in grades PreK-5 and will be presented on the Ralph and Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage, 4015 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati, OH  45227.  Only 152 seats are available for each performance.  A question-and-answer session follows every show.

Performances will be held:

  • Friday, March 15 at 11 AM – great for HomeSchoolers!
  • Saturday, March 16 at 11 AM and 2 PM
  • Sunday, March 17 at 2 PM

When the noble Scottish Lord Macbeth sees a path to power open up before him, he is determined to trod that path to its bloody end, consequences (and maybe himself) be damned. With his ruthless wife at his side, the two plot a Machiavellian course to put and to keep Macbeth on the Scottish throne. Shakespeare’s heart-pounding thrill ride of a play is a harrowing exploration of ambition, morality, tyranny and corruption. This production contains adult situations and violence. It is not suitable for children under 13.

It is not until he meets 16-year-old Clarisse, who is filled with strange ideas, that he is led into a dangerous and highly combustible situation. Now he must choose between continuing his nonexistent existence and risking everything for the right to think.
