Cincinnati Arts Association Begins Using Free Health Verification App BINDLE at the Aronoff Center & Music Hall

CAA_BindleMask, proof of vaccination (or COVID-19 Negative Test), and Photo ID currently required at both venues

[CINCINNATI, OH] – The Cincinnati Arts Association has begun using the free health verification app BINDLE at the Aronoff Center for the Arts and Cincinnati Music Hall.  The free app offers guests the opportunity to upload their full vaccination or negative COVID-19 test information prior to their event to generate a venue entry pass on their mobile device. Guests then will only need to show their entry pass at the venue, eliminating the need to carry paper verification and identification. There is no cost to guests to either download Bindle or create an entry pass.

“We are pleased to offer this new health verification app at the Aronoff Center and Music Hall – at no cost to our ticket holders,” said Todd Duesing, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Cincinnati Arts Association. “It is our hope that our guests will use this secure and efficient tool to simplify and expedite their entry into our venues. We are thrilled to raise the curtain again on an exceptional season at the Aronoff and Music Hall, and we are committed to providing a safe environment for our audiences to enjoy our events.”

While the use of Bindle is not required, guests are encouraged to download the app, set up an account, and create their entry pass prior to arrival at the venue. Bindle does not require biometrics and no personal health information is shared with Bindle or the venue. Guests can safely store COVID-19 test results and vaccine records using Bindle’s military-grade encryption, keeping personal identity and health information strictly private.

Bindle entry passes will be accepted at all events at the Aronoff Center and Music Hall.

More information on downloading and using Bindle can be found HERE.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

As we welcome guests back to the Aronoff Center and Music Hall, the health and well-being of our audiences, staff, volunteers, and artists remains our number one priority. In cooperation with the resident arts organizations at our venues, we have implemented layers of defense against COVID-19, including mask, proof of vaccination (or negative COVID-19 test), and corresponding photo ID requirements. With the use of Bindle’s easy entry pass, there is no need to carry other forms of health documentation or photo ID for entry into the Aronoff Center or Music Hall. For details about our Health and Safety Protocols, CLICK HERE.

OFFICIAL TICKET SOURCES
It is more important now than ever to purchase tickets directly from an official ticket source – such as the Cincinnati Arts Association or one of the resident companies at the Aronoff Center and Music  Hall– rather than a copy-cat secondary ticketing site, so that we can capture the contact information of our ticket buyers. This information allows us to inform ticket holders of changing COVID-19 policies, event cancellations or rescheduling, traffic alerts, etc. Uninformed ticket holders who arrive without COVID-19 documentation run the risk of being refused entry into our venues and missing the show. For more information about the Official Ticket Sources for the Aronoff Center and Music Hall, CLICK HERE.

If the Sneaker Fits…ETC Presents Family-Friendly Holiday Musical CINDERELLA, Dec. 1-30

ETC_Cinderella 2021(Cincinnati, OH) Throw out that glass slipper and break out your library card! Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) revives one of its most treasured family-friendly holiday musicals, Cinderella, by local playwright Joseph McDonough with lyrics by David Kisor and music by Fitz Patton, playing December 1-30, 2021. In the tradition of ETC’s “fractured fairytale” holiday productions, Cinderella is a modern spin on the classic folk tale. This revamped production features a magical set design, enchanting comedy, and the opportunity to see true beauty through new eyes (or glasses). Directed by D. Lynn Meyers. Premiere Sponsor is The Schueler Group. Artist Sponsor is Messer.

What do you get when you combine a nearsighted bookworm heroine, two fabulously self-absorbed stepsisters, one devilishly diva stepmother, along with a self-empowering Well-Wisher? A fun spin on the classic fairy tale that demonstrates having an open heart and a curious mind is true beauty! When the King pressures his romantically challenged son to choose a bride from hundreds of “applicants,” a cross-country tour of the kingdom ensues to reunite a missing sneaker—yes a sneaker!—with its rightful owner. This heartwarming musical will delight audiences of all ages this holiday season.

Cinderella sends a message that inner beauty, strength, and intelligence are the keys to success,” says ETC’s Producing Artistic Director D. Lynn Meyers. “It’s about finding the better part of yourself and using the rest of your life to celebrate it. It’s a delightful story that will bring laughter, hope, and smiles to both adults and children. It was an easy choice to do this show right now. We can all use a little joy and hope.”

ETC requires all patrons and visitors to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test certification and to wear face masks at all times while on the premises. For full health and safety policy information, visit our website at www.ensemblecincinnati.org/health-safety.

The Dayton Theatre Guild at the Caryl D. Philip TheatreScape
430 Wayne Ave, Dayton OH, 45410

Directed by David Shough
Produced by Christina Tomazinis & Rick Flynn

A funny, bitter, sometimes odd comedy about two women, single in a cold Minnesota winter, who each hire a pair of really, really nice Norwegian gangsters to whack their respective ex-boyfriends. Then things get complicated.

Casting Requirements:
Audition selections are available for download at the following link:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vyq39hqueb93r8k/AABQ_QIcwD2kX1eDb20ftIJaa?dl=0

Director’s note: “Familiarity with (but not memorization of) the selections will be a good thing at audition; cold readings demonstrate your ability to read; I would like to see something of your ability to create a character.”

  • Please bring a résumé and headshot.
  • Please bring all scheduling conflicts between Dec 8, 2021 and Feb 20, 2022.

Character descriptions are below. The two men need passable Minnesota accents ‐‐ (recommended viewing, the Coen Bros. movie Fargo). Please take your best shot at the accent at auditions.
Race is not relevant for the women.
All characters play 30s to 40s.

You need only attend one night, but are welcome at both. If you cannot attend either audition date, contact the director at davids@pbstudios.com or 937-626-2674, and we will make time.

Performance dates: February 4-20, 2022.
Rehearsals will run through the holidays with appropriate accommodation of the schedules of all involved.

Seeking 2 women, 2 men. Please see detailed descriptions of the roles below.

  • Tor: The gentler, more reflective of the two gangsters.
  • Gus: More impulsive and brash than Tor (though in a really nice way). Might be part Italian.
  • Olive: A Texas transplant (no accent), not at home in Minnesota yet. And not at all sure this is what she wants to do. A bit naïve.
  • Betty: A Kentucky transplant. She’s been in Minnesota longer, and it has made her harder, more cynical. And given to long speeches
