Auditions Announced for DIAL M FOR MURDER at Falcon Theatre

FT_logoFalcon Theatre is delighted to announce auditions for DIAL M FOR MURDER. This show runs November 4 – November 19, 2016. All roles are paid.

What to Prepare
For initial audition: 1-2 minute dramatic monologue
For callbacks: attached sides (we will send out callback list directly after the audition)

Character Descriptions

  • Tony: M. late 20s/30s. British. A former tennis player, Tony is currently planning an elaborate plan to have his wife murdered. He is a true gentleman, and is NEVER shaken or perturbed. Very good at thinking on his feet, he is cold and calculating, while giving off the demeanor of warmth and friendliness.
  • Max: M. late 20s/30s. American. An crime writer for television, he is having an affair with Margot and truly loves her. While he is a gentleman, he can be fiery and speak his mind if the situation requires it. A genuine good guy. 
  • Margot: F. Mid 20s/early 30s. British. An heiress, and the wife of Tony. While she conforms to the societal standards of the 50s, she has been having an affair with Max. Fun loving and trusting, but can be a bit sarcastic and overbearing if the situation calls for it. Fight choreography required. 
  • Hubbard: M. 30s/40s. British. The Chief Inspector, Hubbard is immediately able to tell that not everything is as it seems with the case. He is calm and professional, a true British gentleman. Excited by the idea of solving a case. 
  • Lesgate: M. late 20s/30s. British. A former classmate of Tony’s at Cambridge. He has gone from educated student to petty criminal, mostly focusing in conning older women out of their money. While he believes he is a good criminal, he is easily able to be blackmailed. Nervous & jittery, unsuccessfully attempts to be suave and debonair. Fight choreography required.Questions? Auditions Announced for TAKE ME OUT at CenterStage Players of Ohio

Sunday & Monday, Aug. 21 & 22 from 7-9pm

North College Hill City Center – 1500 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231

Production Dates: March 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 and April 1, 2017
(Rehearsals begin in January 2017)

Written by Richard Greenberg and Winner of the 2003 Tony Award for Best Play, TAKE ME OUT tells the story of the New York Empires and their struggling baseball season after their star player casually makes the public announcement that he is gay. “Richard Greenberg’s soliloquy on why baseball is greater than democracy is a rhapsody that no lover of the sport or of theater should miss.” – Ben Brantley, The New York Times.

Characters (All performers will be male – must be able to play age ranges and races – NO roles have been pre-cast):

PLEASE NOTE: Most scenes take place in a Major League locker room – Creative blocking will be used to stage this production WITHOUT nudity – however, actors cast as ballplayers will need to be comfortable wearing very little on stage and some auditioning for those roles may be asked to remove their shirt during auditions.

  • Darren Lemming: 20-30 Biracial, all-star baseball player
  • Takeshi Kawabata: 20-30 Asian, pitcher
  • Kippy Sunderstrom: 20-30 Caucasian, baseball player
  • Martinez: 20-30 Hispanic, baseball player (Working knowledge of Spanish a plus)
  • Mason Marzac: 20-40 any race, an accountant
  • Rodriguez: 20-30 Hispanic, baseball player (Working knowledge of Spanish a plus)
  • Shane Mungitt: 20-30 Caucasian, the star pitcher
  • Skipper: 30-60 Caucasian, coach of the Empires
  • Jason Chenier: 20-30 any race, baseball player
  • William R. Danzinger: 30-60 any race, baseball fan (1 brief scene)
  • Toddy Koovitz: 20-30 Caucasian, baseball player
  • Policemen/Clubhouse Staff/Waiter/Reporters/Stage Hands: any age and race
  • Davey Battle: 20-30 African American, baseball player

No appointments required – Auditions will be held in approximate order of arrival.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Resumes and headshots are appreciated but not required. Please be prepared to share any potential rehearsal conflicts for January, February and March of 2017.
