CFF20_Paul and Erika's House showFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CINCINNATI, OHIO (May 19, 2020) Coming to the Cincinnati Fringe Festival this May and June is Paul & Erika’s House Show, a brand new 35-minute virtual house show for adults full of strange stories, original music, digital puppetry and more.

A highly entertaining love letter to live audiences everywhere.

This entire show was conceived, developed, and produced between April 15th and May 15th, 2020, in Paul and Erika’s Covington, Kentucky, apartment.

Erika Kate MacDonald and Paul Strickland, 15-time “Best of Fest” winners at Fringe Festivals here in Cincinnati and across North America, have teamed up to make what they call a “house show too fun to stay in one house.”

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL HOUSE SHOW?
Paul keeps telling people “We don’t know how to make a movie!”  Erika finds herself calling this “a… video?”  The only thing they both agree on is, “It is definitely a show!”  When you buy a ticket you’ll be given a link and a password to watch the full show online any time during the Festival dates.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Paul and Erika are local creators who actually moved to Cincinnati because of this city’s amazing creative opportunities – specifically, the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, where they have been creating hit new shows for the last seven years.

CFF18: My Fringe Schedule: Day 3

CFF18_The Mountains Did Quake logoFirst up tonight is Animal Engine’s THE MOUNTAINS DID QUAKE, THE HILLSIDE DID TREMBLE. This husband and wife team from Minneapolis, Minnesota have a special place in my Fringy-heart and their 2013 show “Petunia and Chicken” is still one of my all time favorite.

In an authoritarian society where individuality is oppressed in favor of obedience to an all-powerful dictator, the ancient epic of Gilgamesh is told as an act of underground rebellion. From the award-winning creators of “Petunia and Chicken” and “Darlings.”

CFF18_Walt Fit logoI follow that up with WALT FIT, a new offering from returning solo artist Jimmy Grzelak, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Walt Fit is a self-care-healthcare exercise system for everybody. In 1858, famously lofty poet Walt Whitman released an inspirational self-help health-and-beauty book. It was soon after lost to time. Until now. Reanimate this zombie path to total wellness– attend this seated transformational dance party led by Jimmy Grzelak, “winningly offbeat imagination” (Washington Post) and 2017 Citybeat Critic’s Pick.

I’m finishing off Friday with ExTrashVaganza! from personal and Fringe favorite Theatre Mobile.

“You threw it away. Now pick it up and make something of yourself.

Paul Strickland (“Balls of Yarns” – Critics’ Pick of the Fringe Winner 2017) and Erika Kate MacDonald (“Ice Candle” – Critics’ Pick of the Fringe Winner 2016) team up in this STRANGE-SATIONAL PUPPET MUSICAL COMEDY DELIGHT for adults!

Come help Erika and Paul make a beautiful future out of the discarded past.”
