Auditions Announced for THE WISDOM OF EVE at Mariemont Players

MPI_logoMariemont Players and director Dee Anne Bryll announce auditions for THE WISDOM OF EVE, the first show in our 2017-18 season.

Audition Dates/Times:

  • Monday, May 22nd @ 7 PM
  • Tuesday, May 23rd @ 7 PM

Location: 4101 Walton Creek Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227

Performance Dates: September 8, 2017- September 24, 2017

Rehearsal will begin in mid- July.

Roles: 5 Women; 5 Men (may also cast 2 additional actors to play a variety of small roles) Variety of ages (ages 18 and up).

Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

A headshot and resume would be appreciated.

Two Actors Needed for DOLLHOUSE at Mariemont Players

  • Adult, African-American woman
  • Boy, 8-12

    Both roles are small parts and would be great for theater newcomers or someone who doesn’t want a huge rehearsal commitment. If you know someone who fits those descriptions and has always wanted to be onstage, encourage them to contact director Dan Maloney at maloneykd@gmail.com

Set in suburban Connecticut, Nora and her husband Evan are living in blissful idealism until an “old business” partner reappears in Nora’s life. The tension then mounts as Nora struggles to find what lies ahead in an uncertain future.

THE STAR-SPANGLED GIRL is the story of a hilarious love triangle between two life-long friends and (literally) the girl next door. It’s San Francisco in the late 1960s and the political climate is tense; Andy and Norman are radical liberals struggling to make a living through their political magazine “Fallout”. Sophie, an aspiring Olympic swimmer, and as American as apple pie, moves into their building and captures Norman’s affections, but they are not reciprocated. Norman’s obsession with Sophie forces Andy to hire her at the magazine just to keep Norman focused on writing for the cause. What happens next threatens both the future of the magazine and Norman and Andy’s friendship.

Auditions Announced for GODSPELL at Mariemont Players

MPI_logoMariemont Players announce auditions for their summer musical, GODSPELL.

Auditions will be held at The Walton Creek Theatre, 4101 Walton Creek Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45227 on Saturday, March 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 and on Sunday, March 26 from 3:00 to 5:00. The show will performed July 7 – 23, 2017.

GODSPELL is a soft rock musical adaptation of the Gospel of Matthew by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and John-Michael Tebelak. GODSPELL requires a diverse ensemble of 5 men and 5 women. All roles are featured. Each actor must bring his or her individual personality traits to the character. Ability to sing harmony “one on a part” and improvise are a must! Age ranges are preferably from late teens to late twenties (but not confined to that range). All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All roles are open. The show is physically active, so the cast must have energy, vitality and freedom of movement. Special abilities (playing musical instruments, juggling, etc.) are encouraged. A current resume and headshot would be helpful, but it not required.

Please prepare an up tempo song (not from GODSPELL), no more than 32 bars, in the correct key for your voice and appropriate for the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided (no acappella singing). Please note: you may be asked to sing from the score at the audition. No prepared monologue is required.
Callbacks, if needed, will be at the director’s discretion.
Conflicts not listed at time of audition may not be honored.

The director is looking for talent that can be shaped. Experience helps, but is not required.
