The story revolves around Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he’s been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for—marketing executive—would take him away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. These grandparents begin a quest to keep him in the area.

This musical begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day and traces their life together over a period of 50 years until the day they leave their house to the next pair of newlyweds. In that time we watch them through their wedding night jitters, raising a family, negotiating mid-life crises, quarreling, separating, reconciling and growing old together, all lovingly to the strains of a tuneful, charming score which includes the standard “My Cup Runneth Over.”

This comedic play is about Ethel P. Savage, a woman whose husband recently died and left her $10 million dollars. Her eager step-children wish to assist her in disbursing her funds. When they institutionalize her, she discovers a variety of social misfits who need the help she can provide.
