Fairfield Footlighters Present SONGS FROM THE TALL GRASS

For their final show of the season, the Fairfield Footlighters are pleased to present SONGS FROM THE TALL GRASS by Randy Hale. A musical journey about the pioneers crossing mid-America, the land of the tall grass, this family friendly production tells the story of a modern day family searching for the history of their ancestors who became Midwestern homesteaders in the nineteenth century. While the production’s music and lyrics come from the time, they have been revised into contemporary melodies and arrangements by Hale. The book is based on letters and journal entries from that era. SONGS FROM THE TALL GRASS premiered at Ford’s Theater in Washington, DC, and it also toured the U.S. extensively. This marks its first community theater production in Ohio.

The cast of thirty-five performers and musicians is under the direction of Dianne Robinson, with musical and vocal direction by Darren Newcomer and Mark Durbin. Choreography is by Jay Goodlett, assisted by Kendra Leonard and Roxanne Renner Fairchilds. James C. Davis is the Producer.

SONGS FROM THE TALL GRASS plays at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Drive, in the Village green neighborhood.

Evening performances are Fridays and Saturdays, May 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 8:00 PM, and Sunday afternoons , May 20 and 27 at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are available by calling the FCAC box office at (513) 867-5348 or by visiting www.fairfieldfootlighters.org.
