But along the way, she encounters her evil Fairy Godmother, the magnificent Magnilda, who placed a curse on Aurora when she was a child, causing her to fall into a deep sleep. This sleeping beauty will awaken only with a kiss from her true love. Once she is fully awake and ready to rock, the feisty Princess Rory begins a whirlwind quest to defeat Magnilda and restore order to the Kingdom.

April 26-May 5
Lockland High School Auditorium

Directed by Burt McCollum
Produced by Mark Culp

Cast: Kenny Tessel as Mr. Katz, Mary Lynne Schuster as Mrs. Oxenham, Michael Kiser as Bill Lewis, Matt Wick as Paul Granger III, Amy Sullivan as Mrs. Bellotti, David Reid Hatfield as Mr. Morse, Cindy Miller as Millie, Liz Koch as The Girl, Cathy Alter as April Green, Erica Beimesche as Suzy, Gretchen Schultz as Jackie, Josh Roden as Jamie, Steve Krieger as Suzy’s John & Erica Riddick as Cab Driver

Set in the lobby of a rundown hotel so seedy that is has lost the “e” from its marquee. The play focuses on the decaying, condemned hotel and the upcoming eviction of its residents. Ranging in age from young to old, from defiant to the resigned, these soon-to-be homeless inhabitants meet, talk and interact with each other during the course of one day. This drama/comedy is of the passing events in their lives, of everyday encounters and of the human condition, with conversations often overlapping. The resulting mosaic of each character emerges clearly and is perceptively defined, and the sum total of what they are–or wish they were–becomes a poignant, powerful call to America to recover lost values and to restore itself in its own and the world’s eyes.
