Cincinnati Shakespeare Company
Feb. 28-March 28
[Over-the-Rhine]

One of the single most beloved stories of all time returns to the CSC stage in a fresh new adaptation which critics are calling “delightfully different,” “fizzy and festive,” and “unlike any adaptation of Jane Austen one has seen before.” Sweepingly romantic, with a good dose of the tongue-in-cheek, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE follows the affaires de cœur of the witty and willful Elizabeth Bennet, as she finds that the path to true love can lead to the most unexpected of places.

ALMOST, MAINE Runs Feb. 28-March 8

SCT_Almost Maine logoALMOST, MAINE
Springboro Community Theatre
Feb. 28-March 8
Springboro Performing Arts Center

Cast: Derek Stidham as Pete/Jimmy/Dave, Dan Eaglin as Steve/Man, Mark Reuter as East/Randy/Lendall/Phil, Matthew Barnard as Chad, Carly Wheeler as Ginnette/Sandrine/Hope, Christina Harris as Glory/Marvalyn, Katie McCoy as Gayle/Marci & Allie Staples as Waitress/Rhonda

A woman carries her heart, broken into nineteen pieces, in a small paper bag. A man shrinks to half his former size, after losing hope in love. A couple keep the love they have given each other in large red bags, or compress the mass into the size of a diamond. These playful and surreal experiences are commonplace in the world of John Cariani’s ALMOST, MAINE, where on one deeply cold and magical Midwinter Night, the citizens of Almost — not organized enough for a town, too populated for a wilderness — experience the life-altering power of the human heart. Relationships end, begin, or change beyond recognition, as strangers become friends, friends become lovers, and lovers turn into strangers. Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis and populated with characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere, ALMOST, MAINE is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery.

THREE Runs Feb. 28-March 2

CAT_Three logoTHREE: A Radical Re-imagining of Three Sisters
Cincinnati Artist’s Theatre
Feb. 28-March 2
Liberty Exhibition Hall [Northside]

Directed by Landon Hawkins

THREE is an original work presented by CAT. Over the next month our team of talented ensemble members will work together under the direction of Landon Hawkins to create a brand new take on an old story. Our initial discussions regarding this piece have sparked questions about finding the connective threads between the live paraphrasing of Chekhov’s text, horrible puns, and, weirdly, baseball. We’re excited to see where this piece takes us and what we discover!
