Loads of laughter and literature collide in this smart hit comedy about books and the people who love them. Ana is a Type A personality who lives in a letter-perfect world with an adoring husband, the perfect job and her greatest passion: Book Club. But when her cherished group becomes the focus of a documentary film, their intimate discussions about life and literature take a turn for the hilarious in front of the inescapable camera lens. Add a provocative new member along with some surprising new book titles, and these six friends are bound for pandemonium. Sprinkled with fun theatrical references to documentaries and novels galore from Moby Dick and Age of Innocence to Twilight and The Da Vinci Code, this buoyant comedy on contemporary culture will have everyone laughing … and reflecting. The Book Club Play is a delightful new play about life, love, literature and the side-splitting results when friends start reading between the lines.

RAGTIME IN CONCERT On April 28-30

CPO_RagtimeRAGTIME IN CONCERT
Cincinnati Pops Orchestra
April 28-30
Music Hall [Over-the-Rhine]

Artists:
John Morris Russell, conductor

JMR and the Pops wrap up the 22/23 season with a Broadway musical reimagined for the concert hall! The brainchild of renowned writing team Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, Ragtime, which follows three pursuits of the American Dream, became an instant classic. Nominated for 13 Tony Awards and two GRAMMY Awards in 1998, the show beat out The Lion King for the Tony for Best Original Score. Now you can experience the celebrated smash hit in a whole new way—in concert with the Cincinnati Pops!

Set in the early 20th century, Ragtime explores themes of race, class and gender within a tumultuous period of social and political change in America. Strong, painful language is used within dramatic depictions of the ongoing struggle for civil rights and social justice. Due to this, the Cincinnati Pops’ performances of Ragtime are recommended for audiences age 13+.

We believe that great music is for everyone, regardless of your budget. This concert is eligible for Pay What You Wish Pricing, as well as other discounts. To learn more visit Music for All.
