[Cincinnati, OH] – The Cincinnati Arts Association and the family of Stanley J. Aronoff have announced details for the upcoming Celebration of Life for the beloved Senator who passed away on January 31, 2024. The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Aronoff Center for the Arts located in downtown Cincinnati at 650 Walnut Street. The event will begin at 5:00 PM in the Otto M. Budig Lobby with drinks and lite bites and will move into the Procter & Gamble Hall at 5:45 PM for the celebration.  Cocktail attire is suggested.

The program will feature the following:

  • Speakers who will honor Senator Aronoff’s life and legacy include Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, Stan’s lifelong friend Neil Bortz (founder, Towne Properties), Stan’s granddaughter Toria Schottenstein, and other special guests.
  • Performances by Cincinnati Boychoir, Cincinnati Music Theater, Cincinnati String Project, Dan Karlsberg Quartet, and Mutual Dance Theatre.
  • An honorary street renaming of Seventh Street between Walnut and Main to “Stanley J. Aronoff Way.”  The unveiling of the street sign will occur immediately following the celebration program.

  • The American and Ohio flags that flew over the Ohio Statehouse the day Senator Aronoff passed away will be presented to the family.

Stan Aronoff played a pivotal role in the revitalization of Cincinnati during his more than three decades in public office. He championed crucial legislation, secured state funding, and advocated for the interests of the Cincinnati region with governors. The Aronoff Center stands as his enduring legacy, reflecting his thirty-year dedication to the local arts community. Stan once said, “I want to be remembered for the good deeds, for some of the unnoticed constituent work we did. I want to be remembered for more than the bricks and mortar. I want to be remembered as a person who cares about people.”
