Directors Sought for 2023-24 Season at Loveland Stage Company

Play Submittal Guidelines
The Loveland Stage Company welcomes the submission of plays for performance consideration.  Please follow the procedure outlined below (Rev. Sept 2022).

Loveland Stage Company Guidelines for Selecting Directors:
These guidelines are intended as suggestions for directors who wish to direct at the Loveland Stage Company. A standard season consists of a Children’s Workshop show in the summer and 3 all ages shows over the remainder of the year.  We may consider other factors that the board deems necessary in determining the choice of either directors or shows for the coming season.

  1. Potential directors should have directed / assistant directed shows in the past.
    1. If you have never directed you must be open to utilizing an experienced LSC director to assist.
  2. Potential directors must be open to using experienced LSC Producers, Lighting and Sound in a minimal of an assistant role.

Loveland Stage Company Play Submittals

Step One:
Show Summary: 
The director will submit in writing, a short (50 words or less), summary of the action of the play or musical.

Theatrical Experience: The director will include a description of their background in theater, explaining their unique qualifications for directing their show.

Proposal: The director will submit a proposal for review.  Possible revisions to the proposal may occur after the board has reviewed.

An example of a proposal:

  1. List all characters in the show with a brief description of their age and type.
  2. What is your overall concept/vision of the play?
  3. Describe the set and costumes.
  4. Will you need production assistants, assistant director, assistant / music director, vocal coach, etc.?
  5. A proposed budget for the production.
  6. Are there any exception costs associated with this production? (orchestra or musicians, etc.)
  7. How much rehearsal time will you need for this play?
  8. Do you have scheduling concerns regarding your availability?
  9. Do you have a covid contingency plan; either to prevent the cast from getting sick or allowing the full proposed run to still happen if illness occurs?

Proposals for the coming season* must be submitted / postmarked by October 31 to be assured consideration for the season. The season is June 1, 2023 through the following May 31, 2024

Step Two:
If necessary, the board may also request additional information from the director.  Once revisions are made to the plan the board makes a final determination regarding the play/musical. At the discretion of the board, exceptions may be made to this procedure.

Director Submissions Sought for 2023-2024 Season at Sunset Players

SSP_logoSunset Players is seeking proposals from directors interested in directing a show in our 2023/2024 season.

The Sunset Players welcomes the submission of plays for performance consideration. A standard season consists of three plays to be performed in September/October, February/March, April/May, and a Children’s Workshop show in December. One musical per season will also be considered.

Potential directors should have directed or assistant-directed shows in the past.

Potential directors must be open to using experienced Sunset Players Producers and Lighting and Sound Designers.

A successful proposal would contain:

  • A short summary of the action of the play or musical.
  • A description of the candidate’s background in theater, including their unique qualifications for directing their proposed show.
  • A list of the show’s characters with a brief description of their age and type.
  • A description of the director’s concept/vision for staging the play.
  • A description of the play’s scenic and costume requirements.
  • A list of needed production staff.
  • A proposed budget for the production.
  • Any exceptional costs associated with this production? (orchestra, musicians, etc.)
  • A proposed rehearsal schedule.
  • Any scheduling concerns.

Proposals for the 23/24 season must be received by November 7, 2022, to be considered. Please include a digital copy of the play or musical if possible.

Two Men Needed for IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR at Middletown Lyric Theatre

MLT_logoMiddletown Lyric Theatre is auditioning two men (age 18+) for our holiday show, IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR.

The show features original songs celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah from the off-Broadway hit That Time Of Year. The show will also feature a few holiday favorites.

You should have a broad range and lots or personality.

Position Overview:
The Patron Experience Specialist will assist the organization in fulfilling its mission of educating, entertaining and engaging audiences of all ages through professional theatrical productions and arts education programming.

Responsibilities:
The Patron Experience Specialist shall be responsible for:

  • Selling Single Ticket Orders.
  • Selling and processing Season Ticket Orders.
  • Answering phone/email.
  • Assisting patrons at the Box Office in our Red Bank Road location throughout the season including STAR performances and AcademyLive! and the Box Office window at the Taft Theatre during performance dates.

The Patron Experience Specialist’s duties include assisting in all aspects of the ticket office, including but not limited to:

  • Audit
    • Daily balancing of subscriber and individual ticket sales
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
    • Processing payments for subscribers and individual ticket accounts
  • Spektrix Ticketing System
    • Building events and merchandise
    • Selling tickets within the system
    • Pulling reports upon request
    • Troubleshooting if necessary
  • TCT Crown Club and Crib Club
    • Facilitating the packaging and mailing of membership items
  • TCT Digital Offerings
    • Serving as the point of contact for any inquiries or concerns for Pick-A-Path and/or Broadway On Demand
  • TCT MainStage School and Outreach Assistance
    • Collaborate with Operations Manager and Sales Manager to migrate and continually update MainStage school contacts in Pipedrive online software for current use when booking TCT On Tour and WorkShops.
    • In the 2023-24 season, facilitate and dispatch MainStage school contracts, as well as assist with contracts for schools and venues booking TCT On Tour and Workshops
    • Help capture new and lapsed school business with personal phone calls and emails, as well as personal interaction (when applicable)
    • Generate new leads for MainStage school bookings (not just lapsed schools)
  • Other
    • All other duties and responsibilities related to the function of the ticket office as assigned.

In fulfilling his/her duties, the Patron Experience Specialist will:

  • Report to and work closely with the Patron Experience Manager to fulfill the mission of TCT.
  • Be an advocate for TCT in the community.
  • Consistently and accurately articulate the philosophy and policies of TCT to the staff, patrons, and the general public.

Ideal and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • College degree in an applicable field
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ticketing system experience – Spektrix a plus!
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to work irregular hours and weekends in addition to regular business hours

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Wage Range: $27,000 – $47,000
  • Health, vision and dental benefits available, partially subsidized by employer contributions, after a waiting period.
  • 403(b) retirement plan participation available, after a waiting period, with eligibility for an employer match after one year of credited service.
  • Generous PTO based on years of service.
  •  Generous paid holiday schedule.
