Fundraising Opportunity for ACT Member Theatres

ACT_purpleWe have $1500 to give…up for grabs for all ACT Groups!

Mason Community Players provides the volunteer army that directs traffic in the parking lots for the Western & Southern ATP (Tennis) tournament, in Mason, August 9-17. The work is very easy. Anyone who can stand, be friendly, and occasionally wave an arm can do it.

With the tournament coming next week, we still have about 10% of our 500 slots open. Available Shift Times: Monday 8/11 through Saturday 8/16: 3:30-8:00 PM. Sunday 8/17: 11:30-3:00 PM, 2:30-7:00 PM.

Ridiculously easy fast money to your group. Nothing to learn, nothing to sell, no pledges to collect, zero heavy lifting. All you need to do is give some time, while hanging in a great fun team environment with fellow theatre folks, many of whom they may already know.

If you can find some time next week, Monday August 11 through Sunday August 17, can spend that time bringing in fast easy money to your group.

Special Note to folks who can be free at 3:30 PM: Although our early shift officially runs from 3:30 to 8:00, we can let you leave as early as you need to. We usually can bring in late shift people earlier to cover. It’s the 3:30 end where we need the most help. Just make sure to leave a note to that effect when they sign up.

MCP_logoWhat’s it worth to your group? A lot. When you work 3 (4.5 hour) shifts, your group makes about 100 bucks. And that can add up really fast. Five people from your group coming up and pulling three shifts together makes about $500 for your group. We’ll gladly assign group members together.

It’s easy to sign up. Just go to http://vols.pt/f83fAV .

When you sign up, please type your group’s name right after yours, separated by a colon. As in “Fred Hunt:TDW.”

Must be 13+. Under-18’s must be accompanied by an over-18. (We are glad to sign for student community service hours when parents request.)

We provide water and snacks. You’ll receive specific directions, instructions, and handy-dandy tips, before the day of your first shift.

Thank you so much for your help! Hope we can give your group a lot of money!

Call for Director Submissions for BPI’s 2015-2016 Season

BPI_logoBeechmont Players invites all qualified area directors to submit an application to direct in Beechmont Players, Inc.’s 2015-2016 season.

As the Arts Organization in Residence at the Anderson Center, BPI has the privilege of presenting its productions in the Anderson Center’s beautiful 223-seat proscenium theater. With our large audience base, BPI typically fills this theater with approximately 1,000 audience-members over each production’s run. BPI now has a storage/build facility, where set designers and builders can take full advantage of the theater’s plentiful stage space by building the set in advance. This space can even allow rehearsals on the set at the build facility. BPI welcomes directors, design teams, and crew-members new to our group, while maintaining an active and talented membership that is ready to step up to help make each show a success.

Interested in joining us for our 56th season? Please submit up to five plays and/or musicals that you would like to direct in BPI’s 2015-2016 season. If scripts for the shows you are presenting are not available at the Hamilton County Public Library, please submit a copy for the Play Reading Committee (if you do not have a copy and would like assistance obtaining a copy, please let Becky Krausser – Becky@beechmontplayers.org – know). Please consider the group, our audience, and our theater when suggesting shows to present. For additional information about our group and a list of our productions since 2008, please visit our website at www.beechmontplayers.org.

Please also visit www.beechmontplayers.org to view a list of show suggestions. These are merely suggestions to give you an idea of the type of shows we are interested in producing.

The Director Application can be found at www.beechmontplayers.org. Please fill out and return this Application, along with a current theatrical resume, to Becky Krausser by September 27, 2014. You may submit these items to Becky at 7598 Delas Cove Cincinnati, OH 45244, or via e-mail to Becky@BeechmontPlayers.org. Please indicate your availability for production dates, as well as your availability for Director Interviews on the Director Application.

Please note that the group would like to produce at least one musical in the 2015-2016 season. Please note, also, that we prefer the Summer production be a family-friendly show. This does not necessarily need to be a show with children in it, but should at least be appropriate for children to watch.

For the Director Interviews, you will be asked to present up to three shows, though the Play-Reading Committee may ask you about the other two shows you submitted. Director Interviews will take place on Sunday, November 9, and Monday, November 10.
